Did anyone see the idiot from Tech to a front flip into the end zone. First off, you are playing a team that some high school teams could beat. Secondly, you are a back-up RB....thats why you didn't get into the game until after your team had already put up 60. And if you are going to do something that stupid, at least be able to complete the flip, idiot. I'm sure "tumbling" is a major at Tech.

I didn't see it. However in that situation a flip is a little much. That said a small celebration is in order if you don't see the field much
Hodges comments were unacceptable to me and far worse than the backflip :undecided

You didn't even see the play, so how can you say that something is worse? Words are just that...words. Until something is carried out, they don't mean a whole lot. The guy was running to the end zone, unimpeded, & leaps from the 2 & flips over the goal line. Hodges comments were out of line, but I don't feel sorry for Indiana State. They scheduled them knowing that they were going to get the crap beat out of them. Its not the final score, as much as it is what they do on the way to getting there.

NCAA Rule 9, Section 2, Article 1a, 1(d)
"Any delayed, excessive, prolonged or choreographed act by which a player (or players) attempts to focus attention upon himself (or themselves)."
PENALTY - Dead-ball Foul. 15 yards [S7,S27] from the succeeding spot. Flagrant offenders, if players or substitutes, shall be disqualified [S47]. If a player or an identified squad member in uniform commits two unsportsmanlike fouls in the same game, he shall be disqualified.
Was this called?

Yeah, it was...but what good does that really do? You give the team that you are beating to a pulp an extra 15 yards. And we all know that Leach doesn't care what his guys do all the field as long as it doesn't jeopordize the outcome of the game.

I heard that a Tech receiver was in jail during the offseason, and Leach was debating whether to suspend him for one game or not. Kinda weird, huh?
Dustin00whoop
09-18-2005, 01:07 PM
Actually, he is jail now--as we speak. And the last I heard, he would be available to play as soon as he was released.

Thats is pretty crazy. By any chance is the receiver Jarret Hicks? That's what i heard somewhere, but I'm not sure.

No, he is playing. He didn't play in week 1 but I saw him catch a TD last night. That dude is a stud.

Yeah he has a reputation of making some sweet catches.

The player currently serving time during the weekends is Vincent Meeks... Safety... Hicks was held out of the first game to send him a "message", likely dealing with workout ethics. He played this week and had 5 rec for 78 or so yards and 2 TD's in the first half...
Meeks should be returning this week... From what I have gathered, he was on probation for a forged check that he was nieve enough to cash for someone else, but then wouldn't turn on the other party... He met his terms up until this summer, charge was in 01 or so, he was about done with the whole mess... but he got lazy for whatever reason and didn't go back to Rockwall to check in with the PO... so they issued a warrant, he turned himself in, and they arrested him at that point for PV... I think he has to serve 30 days within 6 months, some additional probation, and he had to be in during the first two games...

I thought the flips were cool. :undecided
EOJRR1
09-18-2005, 07:27 PM
Yeah the flip was stupid.... He is a RS-Fr, took a screen broke a few tackles and scampered 41 someodd yards down the sideline... he had scored twice last week so... I don't give him a pass for youthful exuberance, he had been there before...
Leach will have him rolling all night tonight I would guess...

Actually they have them roll up and down the practice field.

let me just interject this "classless clown" bull****......
jarrett hicks was not in jail.....period. he got suspended for skipping practice....period....its the T.O. effect and its going around right now among tech recievers........a problem i am starting to raise an eyebrow to....this problem includes the flip, and RoJo doing teh lambeau leap
meeks was in jail and we all know why. he will be back for our practice game against indiana state.
and the guy who scored HAD NOT scored before.....second to that he was not the only one who did a flip on that play :) ....i was in the corner of the endzone, student section, front row. the play was almost done, a sam guy had the angle on him, was gonna tackle him at teh 10, and got LEVELED by a tech defender setting up the block by the endzone......such a crushing blow in fact that it caused the sam player to literally FLIP. at that point the entire stadium did one of those OOOHHHH!!!!! screams that they do when someone gets their bones jarred. i can point out that the tech ball carrier was a freshman and it was probably a combination of nerves, and adrenaline mixed with your first big play that caused him to flip.
wrong decision to flip? of course. worthy of a penalty? absolutly. deserving of an insulting "classless clown" thread? absolutly not. tamu got heavily criticized for bashing tech (a non-rival) in their media guide.....but apparently that wasnt enough. every school has *******s and tamu is not immune to the drunken idiot effect......granted, tamu doesnt have the drunken idiot reputation tech has (i admit it), but tech doesnt have the gestapo to guard people from runnign on the field either. i bet some aggies are guilty of classlessness.....why continue to beat a dead horse? just say "that tech guy showboated and it was stupid"?
oh and i just caught on to the "tumbling" comment.....were you at teh game? i know the media recaps all say "tumbled" but i can assure you he did a flip......he landed on his butt and popped up to his feet. funny how tech isnt a rival but threads get started just to make fun of us....doubt you would have made this thread if someone from k-state did that. what are you trying to prove with this thread just wondering?

why continue to beat a dead horse?
Hmm being a bit hypocritical tonight are we.

oh lets see... keeping people off the field so they dont act like jackasses and tear down the goalposts and throw it in the visiting section.
I would much rather have a "gestapo squad" vs letting **** like that happen.
Plus they have paid security people now that dont let anyone (sans the fish chasing the yell boys) on the field.
redraider217
09-19-2005, 12:18 AM
yeah i know i addressed that.......didnt you read my whole post? i acknowledged that all these things happen.....im not trying to cover up anything. this topic was about teh tech guy....now moving back to him.........im not trying to start a tech vs tamu thread....that would be suicide on this site....i am merely giving a possible explaination for teh tech guys actions, and the truth behind hicks.

well you started it with the gestapo crack.... you could have left that out and gotten your point across. Plus you should know saying something like that on a aggie board would get a response like this.
You should have left it at "both schools have *******s" and left it at that.

I was just pointing out the "gestapo" and "beating a dead horse"

touche......but the only reason i said that was because i thought they jump you if you get on the field??? wasnt there an incident with that and some cheerleaders in 1995 or something? (i really dont know) but if calling them gestapo is offensive my bad....rephrase, "tamu has students that keep other students off the field".......now about the other thing,
both schools have *******s....
ill do you one more jago, both schools have *******s, but only my school seems to get in the papers for it

the incident was involving nebraska fans that upset us a few years back and ran onto the field. There were a few police officers telling them to go back (but too many of them kept on going) so the yell boys got out there and tried to turn them back. They still didnt listen and one of them got decked (nebraska fan) and by that time more secuity was there and the security people were throwing nebraska fans (literally) off the field.
Now there are about 100 people that line the field immidately after the score goes to 00:00.
And you school should get in the paper.... one guy doing it is a single *******..... but a large chunk of your fan base did the goal post thing (had to be in the thousand range to carry that goal post around). Thats why your school was in the papers.

ok well obviously you couldnt just follow your own advice and just leave it alone....i mean i said what you wanted was that not enough? and so i guess since it was just one aggie it didnt really count then right?
lets see, i have
1. admitted that tech fans were stupid for that
2. said that tech gets in the paper for stupid stuff and tamu doesnt, (thus implying that tamu doesnt do anything bad enough to get mentioned)
3. took back my demeaning remarks
4. DROPPED IT
but you just wont? what else do you want? i cant claim responsibility for something i didnt start, participate in, or even have control of!

You want to claim you didnt keep this going but look at your own posts.... and you didnt start it but had the first post right?
But thats fine..... if you want to drop it fine. I had a nice long reply ready to go but I'm just going to lock this insead and make EVERYONE drop it.
