and Jack Nicklaus can kiss my ass. :D If I was that good, I would've been in the US Open. Seriously, its a real nice course. In great shape & they treat you like royalty out there. But the rough is DEEP! I lost a ball greenside (maybe only 5 feet off the green ) because my ball hit & sunk to the bottom. The greens are either really big or really small. Lots of deep bunkers, extemely deep, & some of the finest grains of sand I've ever seen. The greens kind of remind me of something in Europe--very hard & impossible to get anything to hit & stick, much less, back up. Not a lot of actual water, but there are a lot of deep creeks running through the middle of the fairways. Narrow fairways, lots of trees. I'm about a 13 handicap & I had 7 pars (no birdies) & still shot a 97. Absolutely no room for error.
But here is the best part...the course is open to all 12th Man Foundation members until the end of December. You have to call, get a card & register, but once you do that you can play out there as much as you desire. Green fees are normally $125 but for 12th Man members its $85. Worth every penny. I can't wait to play out there again & if anyone is up for it, let me know....you can get on with me--12th Man member or not.
