Sooner State Is Now A No Huddle Zone

The Sooners have turned to the no huddle offense. What other Big 12 teams run this type of offense besides the 4 teams indicated below?

At the NCAA] Division I level, the state of Oklahoma has become a no-huddle zone.

Tulsa and Oklahoma State have moved to no-huddle offenses for a few years now, and last spring, the Oklahoma Sooners joined the migration.

And the trendy, fast-paced offense is only gaining support at the college level.

The rules play perfectly into his fast-break offensive style and give no-huddle teams the opportunity to gain an advantage.

The rule will require officials to spot the ball for play immediately after the previous play ends. In years past, an official would place the ball and then stand over it briefly before starting the play clock.

This is retarded... It works to a degree, but it is a gimmick...

Although there is no formal huddle, the time between snaps will increase as the game goes on... The players will not be able to keep the fast pace when they are tired... Plus, what do they do when they actually HAVE to hurry up with the game on the line?? Defenses will already be adjusted to their speed of play so they wont have an advantage when they need it... Leech and his "Great offense is a good defense" ways will never get past mediocrity...

The Sooners are dumb for doing this, their Offense had ZERO problems... they are fixing something that isn't broken & HOPEFULLY, that will be a good thing for A&M. :gig:

I can kind of see the point of this. Teams are having to use these offenses just to keep up with the rest of college football, and I think A&M will have to do it eventually to. The whole point of this offense is to take advantage of bad college tackling and mediocre athletes at the college level, which all teams have. That is why they don't work in the NFL, because every one is so good.

I will be interested to see how well it works at a place like Kyle Field where we actually make a little pre-snap noise from time to time...I don't recall it working out so well for Clemson a few yeara go.

Actually from what I have read due to the new clock rules regardng the 40 seconds, the no-huddle can actually help with more plays on offense.
