College Quarterbacks Who Overcame Handicaps
I was watching classic SW Conference games on FSN when the highlights of a Baylor game came on and the QB was Don Trull.

Well, it immediately made me think of a QB who played for Grant Teaff who you may remember coached at Baylor for 21 years with a winning record.
The QB that I am thinking about had a speech impediment with which he had apparently coped with great grace.
:rep: to the member who can name him and (http://www.sampsonresources.com/A_NEW_SITE_DESIGN/Sampson_Resources_Neal_Jeffrey_Bio.asp) tell us what he is doing now.
What other QBs can you name that overcame handicaps of any kind to play college football?

Chuck Reedy?
As far as a QB dealing with issues, I think of Terry Bradshaw. He battled depression for most of his football career.

Doug Flutie. Overcame the handicap of being short to play quarterback in the NFL. :)

How about Eli for looking/sounding like a doofus
or Peyton for looking like a horse
then Chris Simms for being a cry baby
maybe Carr for having the incurable disability of sucking

Can't remember the kids name but the instructions to the center were that if the QB started to stutter, he was to hike the ball and start the play.

I would say two of those overcame your perceived handicap and two have not.

Well it took two of you to get the complete answer. Both with get :rep:.
TexAg77, read the question next time. I will let Dustin bail you out this time, but there will be no future rewards for incomplete answers. :smart:
I saw Jeffrey in an TV interview and it just broke my heart on hard he tried to speak correctly. He did not do hardly any interviews when he was in college.
He help Baylor win their first conference Championship in 50 years.
There was a link in my original post to the answer. :rep: to whomever can find it. It's hidden but then again its not.

Chris Sims never overcame that, though, so you'll have to take him out of consideration.
