I certainly don't know all the story and what took place behind closed doors in this young man's dismissal, but the gun charge back home and the rap video this week may have been all it took to cap this guy. I thinking there is more to the story. The word is that in describing their new teammate some of his fellow players called him just plain "scary".

I'm sorry, but I still think gangster rap has no good purpose in our society and every time a black person uses it, it takes the race a step backward.

Personally I didn't like this kid's look or attitude even before the gun charge. If he is an "All-American" kid, friends we are in deep trouble.

Now on the other side, I think he should sue the University of Oklahoma and the NCAA for setting up rules that enable one or two people to take from him such a valuable thing as a college scholarship without due process and a formal hearing. ;)

A last thought - I'm thinking uo paid him money to go away and to say nothing more, like Green Bay is trying to do with Farve.

Some school desperate for talent will still take a chance on this guy. He'll get more chances than he probably deserves.

As for there being more to the story, you're probably right. I've had some black friends in the past who liked to freestyle rap, and Jarboe's rap is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Some Miami players had one a couple of years ago, and nothing really came of that.
