I'm diggin' the Riddler idea (I think Depp was in consideration for the Joker as well)...
They should never do the penguin. IMO, it's a dumb character.

im not sure i agree with depp.... not that i can think of anybody better but i dont want to see any part of captain jack in the riddler and i have a feeling we would.

I think Depp plays a fantastic "dark"-type character.
Seen Sweeny Todd?

its not him playing a dark character (i think he does a really good job with dark characters).... its more of an issue with capn jack and the riddler not mixing in my mind and i have a feeling if depp does it we will see some elements brought over.
and no i havent seen sweeny todd.... have no intention of watching it.

I'd like to see the Riddler done right for once. In the comics, he's not the goofy loudmouth that Jim Carey played. He's more of a cool, collected mastermind who sets elaborate traps for Batman. The way the last 2 Batman movies played out, I could easily see this being accomplished.
The Penguin is kind of a lame character. No one fits that role better than Danny DeVito did and it still was mediocre at best.

I would like to see Bane as a character...or something else that hasn't been done before (similar to how they did the scarecrow in Batman Begins)...

I think it will be hard to better Jim Carrey as the riddler. His costume f'd it up.

They did Bane & they screwed it up royally when they did it with Poison Ivy...
If they do it again, JMO, but I think Batista from WWE or someone with his build would be a good fit. JMO. Not some rubbery suited idiot who acts like he has a speach problem.

Jim Carrey SUCKED as the riddler... that was the begining of the end for that series of Batman movies...
And I was embarased for Tommy Lee Jones' role as Two Face... Two Face is not wacky either & is increadibly serious & very CUT THROAT, some what like what the Joker is, with out the evil humor in his personality...

I think the Penguin should not be done... JMO, but if they do it, I agree with Loftin, based on what's been done with this version of the Batman Saga, I think if anyone can pull it off, it's the folks who are doing up this Batman..

well, I thought the joker was too goofy, and look how that turned out with the right visual concept and right casting.

Like someone else said, Bane was done (badly) in one of the bad Batman movies after Tim Burton wasn't involved.
When I think of Batman villains that haven't been done, it's hard to think of a good one. The Mad Hatter, for example, was a terrible character in the comics and would suck horribly in a movie. When I look at the 2 bad Batman flicks, Poison Ivy, Bane, Riddler and Mr. Freeze were terrible. The Riddler has potential, but It'd be hard to make Mr. Freeze and do a good job.
One idea would be to have Harley Quin. They'll have to write into the plot a way that Joker is dead (or at least locked away), and she could be an interesting villain with revenge on the mind.

I just heard a rumor (don't have a link, it was just convo)
That Mark-Paul Gosselaar might fill in a small role as the Joker in the next movie... Or at least long enough to be killed off...
Supposedly, his acting has improved... :undecided:

Well, in a movie, you theoretically get infinite takes to get the right shot, so he could do it...
