Win Over TCU Makes Noise
Any hope of SMU sneaking into Kyle and escaping with a win evaporated Saturday night. #22 TCU entered SMU's stadium looking to roll after beating #8 Oklahoma. Instead, SMU showed TCU the exit after riding freshman running back Demyron Martin to a 21-10 win. Martin rushed for 118 yards and 2 TD's on 26 carries, while also scoring the only receiving touchdown for the Mustangs. Some SMU fans were thinking they may be able to sneak in under the radar at Kyle, but their cover was blown by showing up against TCU.
The Aggies, coming off a bye week have had an extra week to get "the kinks" worked out of the offense. In a September 3rd night game at Clemson, the offense looked brilliant at times, but not consistently. The defense got penetration, but could never find their way off the field.
One thing the Aggies are looking to change is turnovers. Last year, the Aggies had one of the best turnover ratios in college football. Did SMU use all their magic against TCU? Will their freshman running back be able to run against the Aggie D-line? These questions will all be answered Saturday morning at 11:30 on Fox Sports Southwest. Tune in, and BTHO SMU!
