Bobby is on one the final four billboards. I saw a picture of it, but cannot find it now.

It is a large sign with it touting that Reid is Houston's own.

TSU Launches NOW Campaign

Texas Southern University has launched, TSU NOW, a new public awareness campaign intended to augment the existing recruitment and awareness efforts, placing an emphasis on promoting the University’s urban mission and successful academic programs.

Twelve billboards will highlight TSU’s academic programs, student life and special events. The first phase of the campaign launches this week with a total of four bulletin-sized billboards placed around the city. The billboards, created by TSU’s Marketing Department, invite students to Enroll at TSU Now and pursue careers in Aviation and Flight Simulation, Entertainment and the Recording Industry, and Theatre Arts, as well as one of the many other disciplines the University offers. The fourth billboard highlights the University’s NASA Research Center, which is one of the centers at the University.

The next four billboards are scheduled to be placed the week of June 16th, and will highlight TSU’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the Jesse H. Jones School of Business MBA Program, Urban Planning and Student Life, with a spotlight on TSU’s spectacular Ocean of Soul Marching Band.

“TSU has a long and significant history and just as significant is what we are doing to protect and enhance it right now. Components and programs are being developed and implemented to raise the standards, which will inevitably produce better opportunities and stronger graduates,” explained University Advancement Vice President Wendy Adair.

The billboards are strategically located inside the loop, at I-45 (Northbound and Southbound), I-10 and I-59, 1960 and I-45 at Scott Street.

The final four boards will feature TSU athletics, inviting all TSU alumni, students, supporters and friends to get involved in University events. The athletic billboards will include the soon to be launched slogan, Get in the Game NOW, and a new telephone number for athletics, 713-313-GAME.

The TSU NOW campaign consists of several additional elements:

Promotional posters and brochures
Radio PSA’s and commercials
Social networking sites
Search engine marketing
Interactive media
And direct mailings in conjunction with the University’s Admissions Office.

TSU has been going through a very public scandal that involves someone very high up (maybe school president) embezzling tons of money from the school. Their image needs some repair.

The half-time show of that game will probably contain more good contact and atheltic prowess than the four quarters of football played that night.
