Jose Duran signed his pro contract and is set to start tonight for the season opener of the Helena Brewers.

Wish he would have stuck around another year, but I understand his decision.

I like Gonzo behind the plate, but his offense is lacking. If this new guy can play solid defense and hit, then he deserves a shot. If the JUCO player of the year wants to come play at A&M, I don't think you can tell him no.

Kirkland Rivers came out of the pen last night for his minor league team and pitched two scoreless, hitless innings.

Ruggiano started for his team @ 2nd base and went 1-4 with a walk.

Duran has not seen the field yet.
