I posted this as a bug, but all the responses (below) seem to think that Dix was doing the right thing (and, in retrospect, I can see their point & don't know why I didn't understand it a long time ago).
So... sometimes it isn't a hicky on the CB when the ball gets to the man he's covering.

I see this a lot. It seems that a CB will leave the WR he's covering to cover a second WR if, even for an instant, he gets in closer proximity to the second WR.
