Just saw this from Bort...

I almost forgot to add an update about this before tomorrow's games!

I've made a slight change to the way in-game energy works for this season's sims, that should help with the confusion some people were having with "breath" and their sub settings.

Instead of there being a "max breath" variable as before, the player's breath can refill all the way to 100. The major difference now is that as they player is worn out throughout the game, he will tire out a little quicker (lose breath more quickly).

It basically ends up working the same for all purposes, and your old settings will pretty much work as they used to, but it should help make the sub in/out settings a little easier to understand since there is only one variable to account for.

I'll be updating the "how does energy work" thread in a little bit.
Oh, also, as promised, "scramble often" quarterbacks will be moving around in and out of the pocket a bit more now, and will be more likely to run if there's an opening. Make sure your guy has the agility and speed to do it if you use that setting, or you might eat some turf!

For our QB's.... I'm not saying we need ya'll to be like McGee or JJ all of a sudden..

But if you wish to invest in agility & speed that is fine, just please don't neglect your Passing Abilities also.

Also with this new update... Please don't go spending all your Skill Points on Stamina... Please keep your other Attributes up to par.

We are a deep team & this should not bother us all that much...

However, this will change some things & txags92 & I will be keeping an eye on how this affects the # of plays everyone is getting....

To echo what Pum said...if the QBs want to run some, please let me know what you are doing so that I can make sure we do it within the framework of the gameplan. I am not averse to doing some QB running, but with our strong running game already, I would prefer to see most of the effort going into developing our passing abilities.

And to echo a second thing he said, PLEASE don't go out and invest in a bunch of stamina to try to gain more playing time. We are going to be working very hard to get everybody pretty much equal time at the positions where we have semi-equal talent at depth, so if one player raises their stamina way up, we will just end up having to work harder to keep playing time even. The other players will then have to invest more in stamina to catch up and it will have a detrimental effect on the skill level of the position as a whole. I think at this point, unless we start seeing people going below 70 at the end of games, we should be focused more on other skills instead of stamina and just add a few points here and there as maintenance. On offense, I would REALLY like to see EVERYBODY emphasize speed...that includes big fat slow OLinemen...we can't be effective running the ball outside unless our guards have the speed and agility to pull effectively and we can't properly defend against speedy outside pass rushers unless our tackles have some speed and agility too. So please don't neglect those two abilities if you have a player on the OLine.

What's the goal for O line speed? Pug is at 26.64

I have always tried to focus on making Jerrod as balanced as possible.

26 is probably fine for OL speed. I would hope to see all players at or above 25 by level 20 or so. Ideally, I would love to see everybody have both speed and agi in the range of 25-30 on the OL. I would think speed is more important for Gs than OTs, but both of them need agi. What I don't want is a guy with 60 blocking and 55 str and 10 speed and 12 agi. He will murder anybody in front of him, but will have a tough time pass blocking fast DEs and picking up blitzing LBs and will be worthless trying to run block more than 3 yds downfield.

JMO... but what I have done for the O'Linemen I have created is this..

If their Strength & Blocking is at 43, then their Agility & Vision are at 33, and then their Speed is at 23...

I do in increments of 10 inbetween each one...

At least for this point in time...

Again. this is JMO & what I do... Everyone is free to view my O'Linemen that I have on other teams.... I have them open to view for today & tomorrow...

Here is one of em...

Speed is Key for the Offense & it is key for every position on Defense EXCEPT for NT/DT... Agility for NT/DT is almost the same thing since the NT/DT wont be seen running down field & often works in the confinds of a 10 yard box.

DE's, LB's, DB's... DE's should strive to have no less than 40 speed by seasons end.... LB's should strive to have no less than 45 speed by seasons end & DB's should strive to have no less than 55 speed by seasons end...

Just remeber... after you hit a 50 Rating on anything... it costs 2 Skill Points to move up on the regular Attributes...

I would also recommend that while you are working your way up to these levels, NOT to neglect your other Attributes as well.

Agree 100%

I think as a team we are 100% where we need to be as far as stamina... ESPECIALLY if a few players train on Relaxed in between games...

But overall we are fine... and investing our Skill Points we recieve, via leveling up, into other Attributes should benifit the team as whole much better.

I'm only investing enough to keep players up with the other players at the same positions. Don't want my boys to lose playing time because they didn't play the stamina game. (accordingly, I'll have to put some more on Dix to catch up to Zak & Carpenter).

If anything!!

If anyone on the team is that concerned about playing time... Please coordinat with txags92, myself & the other players at your position before doing anything on a whim.

We should be able to talk it out & at best, see if we can get everyone's Stamina at that position as close to being the same as possible.

Just a reminder though.... having the same stamina does not equate to having the Exact Same number of plays between 2, 3 or 4 players...

Alot goes into how many plays you get... Such as
Your Role On Special Teams (Which Everyone Is On Special Teams except for O'Line, D'Line & QB's.
For RB's & FB's if you get the ball on one play, you exert more energy on that play than you would if you did not get the ball.
For Defenders... If you make a tackle, you exert more energy on those plays than plays where you are not involved in the play at all.
The Level, Strength & Stamina of your opponent on the teams we face also takes it's toll on your players, and our Level's, Strength's & Stamina's wear down our opponents as well.
Playing out of position could also play a role in it.
WR's exert more energy when they make catches than when they don't.
Defenders lose more energy when they Miss Tackles or get Pancaked as opposed to when they Make a Tackle & Shed Blocks.
O'Linemen lose more energy when they miss a block than when they make a pancake.
This is not all of the situations that go into Stamina & Energy & how you get tired more or less... but these are some of the main ones... And from what I have read, is pretty accurate...

Please keep this in mind... because these issues I listed above... almost become null & void with out depth & for our Defenders, if we Wrap Up & make the tackle. :gig:
