She pitched a complete game shutout in her first professional game.

Allentown, PA- Behind the superb professional debut of Megan Gibson, the Philadelphia Force shut-out the visiting New England Riptide 3-0. The Force (6-2) and Riptide split the four game series.
On a hot and steamy night in Allentown, Gibson (1-0) was just as hot in the circle for the Force. Gibson pitched a complete game, three hitter to pick up her first win. She struck out nine batters while only walking one.

it amazes me how quickly the women move into pro sports after their college career is over (softball, wnba, etc)...

She also wins title of "Hottest Player on the Team". There are two other Ags on the team, too--Rocky Spencer & Sharonda McDonald.

Rocky's also a former teammate - her last year was 2006.

I also think that's all of the Aggies in the league.

I don't think it is so much the gender. It is more when the draft takes place in comparison to the season. College baseball players that were just drafted will be reporting to the minors in the next few weeks.

The draft was back in February - Megan was the second overall pick. Burkhart, (ASU's ace) was the first pick, and was also drafted by Philadelphia.

The league isn't that big - only 6 teams - and all in the northern part of the country (Akron, Chicago, New England, Philadelphia, Rockford (Ill.) and Washington DC).

The Rockford Peaches? :D

Couldn't help but thinking the same thing. Along with that stupid song they sang in that movie.

Oh, yeah... great job Megan!
