With the HEAVY Run game plan... the RB's & FB's had 4 Fumbles...
Only 1 was lost....
And we only had 1 Rushing TD.

Against a LEGIT D'Line... the O'Line did pretty good plowing em over...
12 Pancakes, No Hurries, No Sacks, & only 3 Tackles For Loss allowed.
Not bad for a Run Heavy day. :gig:

jamie O was the only player to recover his own fumble...
Although this prob means he was in the open field and just dropped it...

We lost 29-20. But we accomplished our goal which was to rush for a bunch of yards against a TOUGH defense. We had four fumbles, but only lost 1. I was impressed not just by the rushing total, but nearly every player with carries rushed for better than a 2.5 yds/carry avg. THAT is impressive against a tough defense. We were efficient with the few passes we threw, with no sacks, no interceptions, and if we had used a more balanced game plan, I am pretty sure we would have won.
Bonus: Terry V was 4/4 FG and 1/1 PAT with 2/2 40-49 yds and 1/1 50+ yds.

Fumble's were the 1 thing I was worried about most going into a Run Heavy Game....
We lost only 1, but putting it on the ground 4 times.... Had that been a real life team we all love or pull for, we'd be pissed as hell at either the players, the RB coach, Head Coach or all 3...
I know there is only so much we can do to take care of that with Attributes & what not....
I'm just curious as to what we can do to help out our RB's & FB's.

I think that is purely on the carrying skill...although there may be special abilities for RBs that I am not aware of. It may also have a Str component too.

Strength plays a role with every player depending on what you are trying to do...
Just an example... QB's need to be strong to throw far...
I will look for it, but I am sure strength helps with ball carrying along with breaking tackles... Don't quote me on that just yet....

In Jamie's case, the more he breaks tackles and runs with power, the more likely he will be to fumble. I haven't really seen his fumbling as being a big problem up to now.
We were set to run 80% with 80% being inside runs. That is alot of opportunities for big guys to take a shot at the RBs. No surprise we had more fumbles.
I am satisfied with the outcome as it is proving out that we can pick on an area of a defense and try to exploit it. Last game we showed that it is harder to pick on weak FS/SS by throwing deep if they have good CBs...this game we proved our line can pick on a short depth group of LBs by running hard in the middle.
