A chance to play Arizona State for the National Championship is on the line. No excuses, no tomorrow. Winner keeps playing, loser goes home.
Florida has lost 4 games all year. Megan Gibson had lost 1 all year prior to earlier today. She'll get the start again -- here's to figuring out what was wrong earlier and no-hitting those Gator girls.
C'mon Ags -- BTHO Florida! :towel:
Game should be starting NOW on ESPN2.

all these girls left on base, looks like another A&M team wants to just give away the opportunity to play in the big time.

0-0 headed to the top of the 3rd. Gibson looks okay (not super sharp, but they're hitting them right to us).
We're hitting their pitcher every inning (and drawing walks). Unfortunately, we've left 4 on base (2 in scoring position). Need to put points up in this top of the 3rd to take some pressure off of Megan...

I don't know much about softball, but has our offense been this bad all season, or is it just hard to score runs in softball?

It is just hard to score runs in fast pitch softball. Especially when the elite teams play.

Wow...Runner on 1st, no outs and Jo Evans makes Gibson bunt? I don't agree with it. We left Villareal stranded at 3rd. Going to the bottom of the 8th.

Even if you're not a softball fan, that was an exciting game from the 7th inning on. Gibson showed some great fight and heart. She got shelled earlier for 4 runs by these guys. Now she comes out and shuts them out for 9 innings.
Great win girls.... Congratulations!

It's not "hard" to score runs in baseball, but when you get in "must win" situations like this (the tournament) each team throws their ace. Most staffs have one. Gibson's ERA is 0.97. Florida's pitcher's was .75. Virginia Tech was the same.
Over 40+ games, they averaged less than an earned run a game. That's amazing pitching.

The best thing about playing Arizona State in the finals, the awesome opportunity for a hotties thread.
I task you hotties people to start an ASU hotties thread -- now!! We have 2-3 days to get the best hotties thread we've had. :)

Remember, in softball, the pitcher is 14 feet closer and still pitch about 65-75 mph. Plus, the ball is not coming down, but is usually rising up due to the underhand style of pitching and the bases are much closer.
