A&M plays #1 Florida @ noon on ESPN today. The winner of this "series" advances to the NCAA Softball Championship Series vs either Alabama or Arizona State.
Florida, which lost to ULa-La in the first round has to beat A&M twice, while A&M has to only win one game. If the Ags happen to drop the first game at 12:00, then there will be a second, "winner-take-all" game at 6 PM.
C'mon Ags....BTHO Florida! :towel:

it's pretty simple to me....the florida pitcher is struggling with her location from a north-south standpoint....
FOR THE LEFT-HANDED BATTERS: her low pitches aren't hitting the knees....if they're across the plate or outside....low pitches are staying low...her inside pitches are getting up in the zone and the reason we now have a run scored last half-inning was because our AGGS figured that out:gig:

it looks like florida may be switching pitchers in order to get their starter back for game 2 possibly...?

Ags coming a little unglued in the 4th - an error has led to 3 unearned runs and a 4-1 UF lead.

Well, we're down 4-1 in the top of the 4th. We should've been out of the inning tied 1-1, but 2 errors by A&M allowed the inning to keep on going.
Megan Gibson has been pulled so that we can use her tonight if we need her in the second game. The game's not over, but it's sure getting ugly fast. :(

4-1 FLA. Going to Kleising on the mound now maybe to save Gibson some pitches or to see if Kleising has something the Gators can't hit:undecided:

Florida pulled their pitcher, Stacey Nelson as well. We got a runner on in the 4th but couldn't do anything. 3 innings left, down by 3. Hopefully Kleising can keep them scoreless and we just need to have one big inning to restore hope. If we can get 1 run in the next inning or two, we might be able to pull off an Oklahoma City miracle in the bottom of the 7th. Down 3 runs, it's just too far out of reach (the way we played).

If florida wins this game, can they keep it up in the next game? Its tough to win 4 games in a row in a must win situation.

why is everybody so down? remember, all we have to do is win 1 while forida has to sweep us. I don't think the gators can win another one against us.

Florida is a good team. They won an NCAA record 69 games. I sure would've liked to beat them in the cushion game instead of sweating through an elimination game.
They have the advantage now (mentally) knowing they've beaten us (soundly) once already.

4-1 heading into the 7th. Kleising got out of a based loaded jam in the 6th. going to need a miracle to pull this one out Ags.

i think it's important to keep it at a 4-1 game or less mentally

Well, that Eneas chick went yard again in the top of the 7th. We're down 6-1 and down to our last 3 outs. Any type of scoring we can do here in the last at bat is a good thing going into our 2nd game.

6-1 Final. We did nothing after the 3rd inning. Hope our girls are strong enough to rebound and hope Megan comes back on a mission. She threw too many pitches right over the heart of the plate.
I also hope there's a new ump behind the plate. I don't think his calls cost us the game, but he was very inconsistent for both teams. Call it the same and I have no problem. But he was calling the plate differently inning-to-inning, batter-to-batter. Very frustrating.

We really need to put that game behind us and come out very aggressive in the second game. It seems like we relaxed after we got down and started playing toward the second game.
