Tip on stretching your skill points:

When you get to the point where you have 50 points in a skill or ability, it starts charging 2 points per point of ability. If you have equipment that is boosting something other than the ability that is over 50, sell it and buy new equipment that boosts only the ability that is over 50. Then use the skill points when you level up to replace the ones you lost selling your old equipment since they only cost one point each instead of 2.

don't you lose $ when you sell equipment?

I think you get more than half of what you paid for it back. I just see it as an additional upgrade. It is paying cash to get more skill points to put into an ability you want to upgrade beyond 50 pts.

It's hit or miss really... If you have your equipment already focusing on needed areas this would be a good idea..

If not... say for instance you have an O'Lineman & you have all 4 equipment parts focused on Speed, Agility, Passing, Kicking or something not all that important to an O'Lineman & your Blocking & Strength are sub par.... This would be a good move....

But yes you do lose money & once you reach a certain level... selling your equipment (Custom or Regular) does not become worth it when looking at the return you get.

I was mainly thinking of OL positions that are now getting to blocking of 50+. If you have equipment currently that boosts speed, agility, strength, or stamina, then next time you level up, if you sell enough of that equipment and replace it with new equipment boosting your blocking by 5 points, then you can use the 5 skill points you got for levelling up to replace the attributes you lost by selling the equipment. What you are paying the cash for is to get 1 blocking skill point for one skill point expended. In other words, where 5 skill points would normally get you 2.5 pts blocking once you pass 50, you get 5 pts blocking for 5 skill points and all it costs you is some cash (depends on the number of pieces of equipment you have to replace). Since level 16 equipment cost $12500 per piece and you only got +1 for that expenditure, if you can spend $5000 and get double your points for a 50+ skill, it seems very worth it to me.

Yeah I figured that might happen.

Ok, lets put it graphically.

I have an OT with the following stats:

Str 45
Blking 55
Agility 25
Speed 25
Vision 25
Stamina 35

Lets say his doo rag gives him +1 blk +1 vision +1 stamina
and his cleats give him +2 speed and + 1 agility.

If I get 5 SPs and want to boost his blocking with all 5, I am only going to increase his blocking to 57.5. But if I sell his doo rag and cleats and buy new ones that both boost blocking by +3, then put the SPs into +1 vision, +1 stamina, +2 speed, and +1 agility, then all his other attributes stay where they were, but for my 5 SPs I have gotten his blocking up to 60. In essence I bought an extra 5 SPs by selling and buying two pieces of equipment since it would have otherwise cost me 10 SPs to get his blocking from 55 to 60.
