Since baseball blew their series, we have to win both of the Big XII track & field championships.

Going into Sunday, the final day, both men's and women's are leading tu.

Women: A&M 35, Texas 8 (pretty much a guaranteed point)
Men: A&M 16, Texas 13 (going down to the wire).

Well, the pole vault gave the Horns 15 more points... They lead by 16. The triple jump and Discus were women's (I was looking at the schedule wrong.)

Ags are in second place and lead tu 113-91 in the men's side.

The 1600 meter relay is the only thing not posted yet. Considering it's a relay and that tu will probably have one team in it, the best they can finish with is 10 points (101). That means the men have won (vs tu) and the Women are blowing away the competition on the women's side (150+ points) to 2nd place's 100.

This means we should be taking home the Lonestar Showdown Trophy.

Colorado looks like they'll win the men's...which brings up the point if they had an unfair advantage? Considering the altitude and difficulty in breathing etc (think Denver Broncos and their advantage) -- I wonder if their athletes had an advantage of having trained there.

Consider the 5000 meter relay where there were 26 entrants (that finished). Colorado had 6 finish in the top 7. That netted them 32 points (and is one reason they're 20 points ahead of us).

i have been on a morning run in colorado and the same distance as at home feels a ton harder.... Not that i was in track shape, but i was in shape for what i was doing, and when i was there on vacation and tried to run it seemed like i was a smoker or something...

also vly...if I'm not mistaken, I believe relays get 20 points (but it's been a LONG time since I've been to, or seen a track meet).

as far as i can remember from hs track, relay points are double....
