This is the 1st game this season our Defense gave up more than 17 points...:sad:

2ndary was burnt for 339yds Passing...:sad:

If there was a difference... that was it....

We forced em to throw 51 times & we were only able to get 4 Hurries, 0 Sacks, 1 INT (By a LB)...

Their QB's only 9 Incomplete Passes were all due to Pass Deflections... Otherwise he could have very well gone 51 for 51... :sad:

Anyone specific or anything you see in the secondary? I know 50 yards came on that tip by Pinetar Willy that was caught for a touchdown. Saw there were a lot of 9.5-10 yd gains but not much after the catch. Any ideas?

No one specific.... That QB had to be the best QB we've faced all season.... He was so damn accurate it was unreal...

Looking at our next 5 games, we play the two conference leaders, a cellar dweller, two lower mid-level. Hopefully we can at least go 3-2, and maybe pull an upset along the way.

We are 1 win away from having our foot in the playoff door way.... 2 wins away from sitting at the table & 3 wins from possibly having at least 1 Home Playoff game.... Anything over that & we are doing pretty damn good...

I haven't looked at who was in on the big plays in the secondary, so nobody should take this as an individual criticism...but our secondary is the weak link on our defense, especially at Safety (my SS is the starter, so I am pointing at myself as much as anybody else). Where the rest of our defense is mostly lvl 14+, the safeties start at lvl 12-13 and got down rapidly from there. When we play teams with lvl 14-15 WR and a good CB, we are going to see it in how our secondary plays. There is pretty much nothing we can do about it at this point except try to gameplan to cover for them by either running more zone or blitzing alot more and hoping to force bad decisions/throws by the QB. If the blitzes don't get there, we are going to give up points. Welcome to Coach Torbush's dilemna.

Fortunately, there are only about 5-6 teams that really can keep up with us on offense, but unfortunately, we face 2 of them in our next 4 games.

While the 2ndary (Safeties) are not at the same Lvl as other positions.... The defense as a whole had not given up more than 17 points to anyone until this game..

I wont be too hard on the DB's... Like I said... their QB had an uncanny ability to find his WR's... We have not faced a QB that accurate before & their QB had not been that accurate before this game either... Even against lesser teams he struggled more...

While those 2 FG's would have helped... I think our in-ability to convert on 3rd Down is what did us in... 1 example was our Center gave up a HUGE sack on a KEY 3rd Down as he doubled down on the NT allowing the MLB to sack Tee Dee uncontested.. On a 3rd & short, had we converted... it's safe to say that they would have had a much tougher time scoring that KEY TD later in the game if at all...

The 2ndary has given up only 9 Passing TD's... before this game they had only given up 6.... To go along with only allowing 3 Rushing TD's all season....

While I'd like to say we need to score more... If you look at the Passing & Rushing TD's in the Eastern Conference... We are right up there at the top in both Passing & Rushing TD's... currently we are off by 2 or 3 from being one of the Top 4 scoring offenses....

I just think their QB caught fire & was just in the zone....

I agree...I wasn't blaming them for the loss...just pointing out that if our D has a weakness...they are it. This was just a very close tough game and we lost. This was one of those games where I looked at their team before the game and I thought they had an advantage over us and I would have been very happy to get away with a win.
