Here's a really goos site to track all types of legislation being proposed and things that have just passed. One thing I will say is that (in my opinion) Ron Paul is an ASHHOLE. I'll find the other bill he was the only NAY vote on about increasing funding for our military men and women that come back from war with TBI (traumatic brain injuries). It would cost less than $1 per American, and that punk voted NAY. But here's this one:

The fact that he hasn't dropped out yet has me worried that he'll run as an independent. He has just enough support around the country to make a difference and cost Republicans the election. He could be the next Ross Perot.

Appears cold-hearted on the surface, but who knows what is between the lines that voting "aye" also approves. Regardless, it takes some kinda balls to be the only nay vote. That is someone that will not be swayed.

You don't even know if he actually voted that way or not. I saw a special a while back on voting & some politicians vote not only for themselves, but for anyone who is absent that sits around them. Its just as likely that someone voted Nay for him to make him look like the ******* you are alledging him to be. I don't really have an opinion either way, just saying that looking at someone's voting record is not a good way to judge them.

So someone stole his card and voted for him? Doubtful.

Voting is done by use of an electronic device....basically you push a button either for Yay or Nay. While it is illegal to push someone else's button, the rule is only as good as the enforcement. There was video on this special of some politicians voting as many as 4 times for different people that weren't present.

Insightful stuff.

They call him Dr. No for a reason. He votes no on pretty much everything, so singling him out on 2 votes while ignoring the larger pattern seems a little disinginous.

He votes against every resolution like that because he says they're pointless and they waste time (and taxpayer money) when Congress should be doing real work or just not be there. Not to mention that they are mere platitudes and warm fuzzy laws that often interfere with real diplomatic issues (like the situation in Burma/Myanmar). These resolutions constantly come through, and as someone who's worked there, they are a huge waste of time and resources. What good would it have done for him to vote for a resolution? None.

As for the spending bill and the other vote that you're talking about, the guy is one of the few members that realizes we don't have the money to spend on that. It's not the $1/citizen that you mention. You could say that about every bill that comes up to the floor. It's the accumalative effect on the country. It's the constant printing of paper money and borrowing of money that the vote is about.

Proxy voting is done, yes. Stealing of voting cards--I never saw or heard of such things. But maybe I missed it when I was on the floor.

I don't think they need any help w/ that.

Dustin, I think the story about the voting buttons where they were racing around to vote on everyone's desk was in the Texas Senate or House of Reps. I think there are a lot more eyes on the national congress that would prevent that from happening.

Yes, Ron Paul wont be swayed... even by popular opinion of the people he is elected to represent. The man is insane, thats all there is to him.

so I guess that thing doesn't go on in the US Senate, right? I mean considering that Oblama has missed 22% of all the votes. Funny how know one is "pushing his button"
