I thought this was interesting....

"How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?" Funes said. "Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother'? It would still be part of creation."
In the interview by the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures. Ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom, he said.

Shows some of the Catholic Church's teachings on science. I believe this was brought up a few weeks ago in one of our Catholic vs. protestant discussions.

I agree with what he said in your quote...

God's abilities are greater than anything anyone or any CPU could ever understand....

JMO, but to think he put us on Earth & then created all of those other worlds with nothing but hostile enviroments that would only kill us... Just doesn't make sense to me... but like I said we can't understand why he would do it or what he is capable of...

Then again... With so many worlds unable to be colonized by man.... I've always looked at them kind of like the Forbiden Fruit....

We know it's there.... We can see it... but God told Adam & Eve not to eat it, maybe those planets being so hostile is his way of saying leave em alone....

I don't know... just throwing out random ideas...

I have always believed in life on other planets. If God created the Earth and there is only life on Earth, then what was the point of everything else. Stealing a line from the movie Contact - It's an awful waste of space.
