Anyone interested in buying the team???
I'd prefer to sell it to someone currently on the team... If someone currently on the team buys LOD, then I will leave the team as is & that person can then run things....
If no one wants to buy the team... Then to prevent anyone being under contract to a team owner that they do not know or want to play for, I will release everyone so they can sign with who ever they want...
Me personally... If no one buys the team from me today... I'll be taking some of my players to Stobie's team.... I am sure texags08 might be interested in some if not all of the players on LOD...
This is just a heads up on what is to come....
Before anyone asks why I am selling the team...
With the players who have left, I don't want to ask anyone to create any more players... I don't want to burden anyone anymore...And quite frankly... I don't like dealing with the Free Agents out there & their Overly HIgh Expectations they have for a players salary...
Also I think I will enjoy the game much more as just a player & not an owner...
Yeah some of the Owner stuff is fun... but only when everyone is on the same page... I'll just try to help out Stobie, texags08 & my friend Absolute as best as I can as a player (IF NO ONE FROM LOD BUYS LOD)...

I haven't complained about hardly anything involving GLB, but if I understand you correctly, I think that is pretty chicken sh!t. If someone doesn't buy the team from you today, you are going to remove your players from the team & then what? The team just gets sold to any ol' chump that jumps up? Right in the middle of the season with a days notice?
You basically got everyone on board with this whole deal & asked them to create players so we could have an AFs team & now you are just going to drop everyone & leave them hanging? :headslap:
Just my 2 cents

I have offered the following to Pum:
I will let Stobie have a pick at some of the LOD players that he needs for some depth, then i will get everyone from AF on Hays onto LOD and sell Hays so that i can purchase LOD...

I know you haven't complained...
But it's a pain in the arse to continually ask people to create another guy & another guy because someone else quits for whatever reason.
Are you going to create a player every time someone quits the team???
I've done all I can to keep this team together & keep everyone happy....
And like I said.. if someone within LOD buys the team, then I have no problem keeping my players on the team & helping that person out...
And if no one from LOD wants to buy the team, then I'll relesae your players so that you can have them play on a team you want them to be on... I'm not going to force ya'll to play for someone you don't know...
I just don't want to be the owner & listen to people cry about this or that.... Like Vly said on another thread... it's a game & people cry to me about BS as if it is real... Knowing full well it's a game I try to make everyone happy & for anything & everything I do for folks, something always pisses off someone else....
I'd rather just be a player on an Aggiefans team than the owner...
And I'm not just trying to sell it to just anyone... I've been PM'ing quite a few people asking them if they want to but the team, to keep it in house...
Before you go and call someone chicken shyt or go off the deep end, ask 1st what else they've done. I've PM'ed at least 5 to 8 people on GLB & Aggiefans.com about this...
I would have asked you, but your player often goes inactive, and being an owner takes more time & effort than a player requires.
texags08 is willing to buy the team.... Read his post....

I find it funny you calling it chicken ****... Cause I'm sure you wouldn't want to put up with BS that's been going on.

If you want to buy it you can... But you can only OWN 1 team at a time... for this to happen you'd have to sell Hays Rebels 1st...
Then you can purchase LOD....
We can wait after this game if you want... I have no problem with that...

My player never goes inactive, except for maybe a span when my hard-drive crashed. And if you have been doing things behind the scenes before this post, then thats fine. But then don't get pissed if I call you chicken sh!t when all I know is what is posted above.
I wouldn't want to buy the team because I don't want to deal with all the prima-donnas that b!tch about every little thing....but then again, I wasn't the one that started the team either. I just think its BS to start something & then quit because a few people ask to be released. As far as I'm concerned, you shouldn't start something unless you plan on seeing it through. Vly would've try to sell Aggiefans 30,000 times by now if he reacted the way you do.

Pum, you've done a great job with the team. You should just keep it and let all the players know that you have the final say on things and if they don't like it, tough sh!t. Its just a game (a fun one at that).
Are there not players out there that you can make offers to (not Aggie fans) if someone leaves?
Pumchavas28

Also... I just want to say I didn't start the team for people to come at my bitching every day about this or that...
When I 1st started that team... I was under the impression that we had cool folks on Aggiefans who would all be cool about the team & just go out & beat everyone....
That hasn't been the case... I guess I was wrong in thinking that everyone would be a team player & seeing how the most effecitve teams are those where everyone is on the same page (SEE STOBIE'S TEAM = Undefeated & no BITCHING), If you (Dustin) can think of a better way to run the team, fine.. then please tell me...
txags92 was kind enough to create a replacement TE for the TE ABagg asked to be released.
Who is going to replace the SS?
What about Agnlaw Dixon who wants out too? Who is going to replace that CB???
not to mention that any replacement will be from Lvl 1 to Lvl 4 & will cost that person $$$$ to create a new person... Quite a few people have said they can't afford to spend any more money on the game, so I can't ask them to do that... And if you go out and look for Free Agents, I can tell you right now, that no one out there is willing to go with the Pay Scale we have right now... Instead a Lvl 4 player wants what would be Lvl 18 or 19 Pay on our scale...
Everyone wants BIG CASH for their players... That is the one aspect of the team I liked... All but 1 player was cool with their salary..... Everyone played the part... but from what I have seen on the other 2 teams I am an Assistant GM for.... Good luck trying to get other people to buy into it...
Everyone wants that FAT CONTRACT so they can train on Intense 24/7... Everyone wants extra cash just to have it....
Go check the "TEAMS LOOKING FOR PLAYERS" Forum on Goal LIne Blitz & see what ever owner has to deal with if you don't believe me.

Dude I wish.... I have tried to send Offers out to players for Hays Rebels & San Antonio Syndicate (the 2 teams i am an Assitant GM for) and everyone wants some crazy contract...
Not only that... what some people are doing is accepting a contract & then wanting to be released & if they are not released they train on Intense & play at a Low level to give the least amount of productivity possible...
That way their player forces the owner to release them & then they walk away with that Contracts Signing Bonus & that kills a team's finances & Chemistry.

And seeing something through is easy... I am 10 years into seeing something through... and 10 years away from retirement.

Y'all need to be really careful how you do that and probably should let the admins in on it. If we make a wholesale swap of a bunch of players and then kill one of the teams, it will raise a big red flag. I for one have worked too hard and spent too much on my players to want to see them all become CPU players because the admins think we are cheating.
I might be willing to buy and take over LOD if I could get some assurances from the existing players that they were going to make a better effort to act like adults and that we don't have 5 more people considering leaving the team. Like Pum, I don't want to take over the team and constantly be asking others to make new players or have to go search the free agent ranks every couple of days.

honestly, I'm more in it for fun...it wouldn't be as fun if pum weren't running it.
I have 300 flex points per player, so I can create two players. They won't be all-stars (don't think I'll put any more $$ into it)...but they'll fill a gap.
I enjoy pum running the team b/c he's a fair owner. Anyone who bitches is the problem...
Dustin00whoop
05-13-2008, 11:59 AM
I don't have any flex points or else I would create players.
And, I have read the threads & seen all the bitching, but its a selfish move if you ask me.
That being said, I am in it only for fun & the reward of doing something successful with friends. I think pum has done an OUTSTANDING job running the team up to this point. But I don't agree with bailing out because a few people are bitching. Find some CPU players or something.

I'm in it for fun too. I don't give a rat's ass about my salary or anything like that. I gave Pum some crap (all in good fun) about not getting enough PT at running back, but I really didn't care. This is just a fun game to pass the time during the week.
Pum, I understand your frustration. If you really want to sell the team, can you wait until the season is over?
texags08
05-13-2008, 12:28 PM
I am willing to buy the team, but my first choice would be for Pum to keep it...
Pum, Maybe you could hand off some of the responsibilities to the GM's so it will take some stress off...
texags08

Maybe you could have a finacial GM, a recruiting/roster GM, and an O and D coordinator.... Then you can sit back and rake the money...

How much does it cost to buy the team? (How many flex points)? I haven't put any money into this game, but hell, I'll do it to keep the team together.

Correction, Vly makes nothing from Aggiefans.com (see any post I've ever made). In fact, Vly spends nearly $1,000 year out of his pocket to keep it running. I do it because I like having a reasonable place to post about Aggie sports (and because I've come to like you guys). :)

2,000 FP to buy a team...
The FAQ says 1000 to buy a team for 2 seasons. Did that change?

well if you are buying that many you will get a discount....
so $16

Pum, I don't own any teams and don't have any flex points currently. I am willing to buy the team from you in order to take it off your hands (without compromising other people's teams).
How do we do this? I can't access the internet after 1:00 PM until later tonight. So, if I don't respond, that's why. Don't disband it though, please. :)
But please, clarify how many flex points it will take and how we go about making the transaction.

I kind of already have that....
txags92 runs the offense... (last 2 or 3 games)...
I run the defense....
All of my Assistant GM's are able to offer contracts.
Awolf was the Finance GM but with him off the team I would need someone else to step in & help out with that...
If someone wants to be in charge of the Finances... I can add them also & delete the rest so only one person can make the Money Moves...
If someone wants to be in Charge of recruiting/replacements willing to help the TEAM I can add them.... (But it has to be 100% people we can trust to be on our team.)
texags08
05-13-2008, 12:49 PM
I would def rather Vly buy it than me have to give up Hays... I can help out with some players to LOD from Hays if people decide to leave...
It will be 1000 FP's to buy the team... The way it would work is that Pum would have to sell the team beck and you would have to be ready to buy it IMMEDIATELY...
If Vly is down for buying the team then take me out of the running for it... I want to keep Hays if possible...
