Obviously everyone is going up in LVL's... so is our competition....
But has anyone's stats improved compared to last seasons????
Most of us played 8 games last season... some 7, 6 & a few 5 or less....
In the 5 games we have played so far.... Does your player have better stats so far???? Are the even with last year??? or are they worst????

A good example is my OLB Puro Pum....
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=33920 (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=33920)
Last season in 11 games.... He had 50 Tackles 2 Ints 1 FFum & 4 PDs...
This season in 5 games... He has 40 Tackles 1 Sack.
Based on Tackles he is on pace to SHATTER his stats last season... But in other areas like Ints & PDs... he has yet to play up to his level last year.

Vly Rock is doing better than last year. I think I'm only a few tackles behind where I was last year and still haven't played as many games. Most of my tackles are on special teams, but I don't know if that was the case last year.
Pumchavas28
05-06-2008, 12:14 PM
That is the case for most Safeties.... On the 4 teams I have players on... the SS & FS are usually in the middle of the pack or at the bottom of the pack in Tackles unless they are on Special Teams....

Not counting the play-offs (where Dix killed & Holland was good):
Dix has improved:
In 9 games last season: 31 Tackles, 4 Int, 10 PD, 0 FFum
In 5 games this season: 21 Tackes, 2 Int, 11 PD, 1 FFum
Holland (5 games last season vs 5 games this season):
Last: 4 Rec for 47 yards, 1 fumble
Current: 5 Rec for 37 yards, 0 fumbles
Pug (it doesn't show how many games he played last year) is most improved with 6 pancakes this season vs 1 last season.

P-Ville is doing much better. He wasn't on special teams last season so I can't compare that though.
In season 1, he was averaging only 2.8 yards per carry. So far this year, he is averaging 4.9.

Awolf is on pace for more tackles even though this year he isnt in on special teams.
Already passed last years total for PD with 8 already
Already has the same amount of Interceptions.

LARD ASS only had 4 pancakes last season and already has 15 so he has improved greatly. CORN FED had 0 last season and has 6 for this season. ZAK ATTAK played 9 games last season, had 35 tackles, 3 INT's with one run back for a td, and 13 pass deflections. this season ZA has 18 tackles, 2 INT's, and 6 pd's. ZA is about on par with what he did last season so i am not sure if he has improved a whole lot, except for maybe int's/game....

I think I have generally improved most of my guys, but I am a bit perplexed by Rock Goodag. He seems to be getting fewer tackles than before and I am not sure why. I suspect that before it was his speed that allowed him to get in on more plays, but he also got a lot of tackles early last season on special teams. There seems to be a couple of spots on the kickoff team that get most of the tackles and Rock had one for a while. I think that helped his tackle stats last year. He does seem to be doing better against the pass this year, and recorded his first 2 hurries last game, so hopefully his first sack of the season will come soon.

Nigel has less catches, but he's also in on less plays.
However, his ST time and stats have gone up!

My DE has improved. I have 10 tackles through the first 5 games. Last year I had 6 tackles in the 8 regular season games and 2 playoff games.

I think they must have tweaked the simulations a bit, because all of the DLine players seem to be getting better stats this season. Last season it seemed like all the DLine was there for was to absorb blockers while the LBs cleaned up...

I still think DE's get less than the DT's do. How many sacks have our DE's gotten in the last two seasons? Not very many. I think even our CB's have more sacks than the DE's do.

Well before you get too down about it, take a look back and you will find that most teams we have played have had better tackles and their guards and center are weaker. The same could be said for our OLine. So it isn't totally unexpected that the DTs would get more hurries and sacks than the DEs when two well matched teams face each other.

For the most part, we are facing the stronger part of our schedule....
Things could very well change for the better.

Jerrod has definitely gotten better.
Completion %age up 14%
Yards passing has doubled in one less game played
QB rating up 14 points
TD passes up
INTs up

blazing saddle is NOT improving.
I attribute this to the opposing defenses continuous focus on the run & our likewise reaction to focus more on the pass...
in the two games we have done this (blazings worse two games)...we have both won...so I say let it continue!!!
Cart hunter is about the same as last year. I'm disappointed that there aren't more sacks from him...but considering he is going up against higher level o-linemen...I'd say it is about as expected.

BL has def improved his pancakes, but i think he needs to get better at pass blocking...
O'Hara is improving in TD's but not really in Yds.
Fighting Chicken is REALLY improving in tackles, PD's, and playing time...

I think it's cool how you can see the # of plays a player gets now...

I probably had nothing to do with it, but I sent the site an email last week asking them to make full player stats like this availalble. They sent an email back saying thanks for the idea and that they would see what they could do.

I have seen a trend across the league...against good teams, nobody can run the ball well...even the elite offenses. The winner in those games is the team that can pass effectively against a tough defense or that can make things happen on defense or special teams. So don't be shocked if your RB's output is declining...I think it is happening to all RBs throughout the league. Everybody just seems to be playing to stop the run first.

I think that is the case... I know one coach we beat was pissed off because he said he went 90% Run Defense & 10% Pass Defense & we still gained over 100yds Rushing on his defense...
I pointed out our O'Line Depth & he acknowledged that was the reason...
But against ELITE TEAMS, they have the same depth & it comes down to droped passes, sacks allowed, fumbles, INT's thrown, missed tackles & pretty much any bad thing that can happen, happening...

It is making me wonder if the way to win against elite teams isn't just to go bombs away?
Pumchavas28
05-12-2008, 04:52 PM
Nah... I don't think that would work.... I would think leaning towards passing might help... but just going ttu all of a sudden just doesn't seem to work for the most part either...
KCAggie
05-12-2008, 05:09 PM
It's just like the NFL. When two good teams play, the team that wins is usually the team that makes the fewest mistakes. I think you go ttu on a team when you are way overmatched, but since I don't think there is a team that way overmatches us, passing all the time is just going to cause turnovers.
txags92
05-12-2008, 05:17 PM
Yeah, I wasn't real serious about the idea. It might work better if our WR were evenly matched against the elite teams' CBs, but we are usually giving up a couple of levels and we just end up throwing INTs. I am hoping that they put a few more controls onto the offensive settings in the future so that you can pick on the specific weak spots in a given defense. Right now, even when you can identify the weak spots, it is hard to exploit them very well due to the lack of controls.

Same Question, Same Point In Time During The Season...
Only change is... Over 3 seasons now... How is your player doing so far???
From Season 1 to Season 2 & now to Season 3.

Obviously as a team.. Our Team is playing far better at this Point In Time compared to Season 1 & Season 2...
In Season 1 the CPU controlled the team until about Week 6 or 7...
In Season 2, we started off a bit rocky...
This season... At 4-1 we are off to a pretty good start considering who we have faced so far... :gig:

I know Puro Pum isn't the Tackling Machine he was last year, but at the same time he hasn't needed to be...
Cart's Tackles have improved & so have some of the other players on Defense, as a result, Pum isn't having to do as much this season... :gig:

Blazing is getting used to the starter's role...his TD production is up, but YPC is about the same. This game is TOUGH on the running game...
Cart is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the past two seasons. STILL not getting the pass rushing stats (hurries/sacks) that I would like, but I believe that has to do with the scheme...which is WORKING :gig:
If he has to sacrifice sacks/hurries for the betterment of the team...so be it.

I don't think any of us are going to show a big statistical improvement so far, because we have been facing some very tough defense...todays game is no different. Once we get to the 2nd half of our season, the stats should really start to roll as we get to play more of the weaker teams in the conference.

LARD ASS is doing well and has replaced Bud-Lite as the team leader in pancakes. CORN FED is doing well as OT and is not letting any defenders get close to the qb's from the right side.... ZAK ATTAK is doing pretty good, but only has 1 int on the season. hopefully he can rack up some more int's and get some good returns out of them as well.

Biggest disappointment in GLB history is my FB on Hayes. He absolutely sux and will consequently be retired when his contract expires.
