The other day I basically announced my arrival to the site, and then abrubtly had to leave town due to Katrina. I actually live in Baton Rouge and am in good shape, except for no power. We, my wife and child, left town mainly in support of my wife's family for all of them live in the New Orleans area. All of them have recently found out that their homes are going to be ok, except for my sis-in-law and her husband who have not heard anything yet. Unfortunately, due to their location, they are most likely going to be w/o a home.

I can sit here and write about our griefs all day long...about no power, gas at rates over $3.00 a gallon...I can even write about how hacked I am about BR showing the Notre Dame game instead of the A&M game, but you know what? There is not a moment that goes by where I am not thanking our precious Lord for moving that storm 40 miles east. The news keeps saying that this is the worst natural disadter in the history of the US, but it could have been way more worse if that storm had hit just 40 miles west.

So I put this post on this board because, if you can please forgive me, my inthusiasm for Saturday night has been dwidled substantially. Hopefully we will have power by then and I can keep up with it on the net, but even then I have to have my internet connection. Don't get me wrong, I am still quite excited about the game...it's still my beloved Aggies playing!!!

Gig 'Em and please keep the Gulf Coast in your prayers!!!

Wow..... Keep your head up Reign. I guarentee everything will pan out. Everyone in Texas is thinking and pulling for you guys.

There is some crappy stuff going on which surely puts my petty problems in place but Thank God Football season is here right?

Reign, there aren't words, either spoken or written, that can comprehend what you and your family must be going through. Thankfully, it seems your family will come out of this okay, and everyone is okay. I certainly understand that something of this nature puts sports and other things in perspective, and sometimes in jolting fashion, reminds us what is really important in life. I certainly don't want to make this a religous discussion, as I don't want to offend anyone, and we each have our own faith, but I think we all agree God does things in mysterious ways, and everything has its purpose. Although, it is difficult to understand why this happened, years from now we, as people, will undoubtedly have learned something from this. Perhaps it will be something as simple as taking the extra time to kiss your wife, or significant other before you go to work, or taking the extra time to give the elder lady a hand loading her groceries at the supermarket, or taking the extra time to read or tuck in your children at night. What ever it may be, we will be better for it, and have a deeper appreciation for what is important in life. I will close by saying this, I don't know if you attended Texas A&M or if you are a fan, but in your heart you are an Aggie, and Aggies always stick together, it is something found in no other school, and something of which I am profoundly proud. So if you need anything, whatever it may be, something as simple as someone placing a call to others to let them know you are okay, or whatever, it may be. If it is within my power, as a fellow Aggie you can count on it. All you have to do is ask. My prayers and those of my family are with you. Keep your chin up, and your faith strong.

With All My Prayers and Sincerity,
