Bill Bryne's Weekly Wednesday
I have extended an invitation to LSU, Tulane, and the New Orleans Saints to use Kyle Field if they need to as the long recovery process gets under way after the storm. As of today none of them has responded, but we will help however we can.

The Saints would go to San Antonio before they went to Kyle though...seeing as how they want to move there eventually anyways.

They should play at Kyle and donate the money to the NO relief fund

If the NFL was smart, they would make the Saints a road show this year for their "home" games. It would be tough for the team, but they could have them play at different venues each week with part of the proceeds for ticket sales going to the relief efforts. That way, there would be new interest for every game and lots of people would come out to help raise money.

that's a great idea. They could go to cities without teams like SA or anywhere in Oklahoma. Where are LSU students going to class?

LSU is in Baton Rouge, isn't? Tulane is in New Orleans. I was wondering the same thing though. By the time everything gets restored, the semester will be over. Extra long break. It also might be too late to register for classes if they were to go to a community college somewhere.

that would suck being a semester behind because of all of this

The Saints will probably play home games in San Antonio. Tulane will likely have to switch some home games.

I think I head somewhere that Arkansas is taking in some of the college students for classes and housing, but I'm not 100% sure if that is accurate.

there are a lot of schools taking students from New Orleans.
The Tulane football team is at SMU and will attend classes and play home games there.
Also SMU is admitting Tulane students from the D/FW area even though the semester has already started.
Also, Syracuse is offering free tuition to any students whose schools are no longer. They are even offering free tuition to their study abroad programs as well. The first 15 students who responded also got free room and board.

I wasn't aware that LSU students actually went to class. I thought they just partied all day... :)

They have to go to class the first couple of days to get the syllabus so that they know when the tests are. And then they go on tests days. It speedens up the graduation process.

I've heard Texas State is opening it's doors to any students of UNO, Tulane, or anywhere else hit by Katrina. These students can go to class for free, and they are also asking us students that live off campus if we can house some people. There hasn't been an official release yet, but hopefully it is true. I think I heard about Rice doing this just for Tulane students (maybe UNO).

Glad to heard it :gig: We are letting in 1000 from any Louisiana university as well.

Everyone is trying to step up and help. We as Americans screw up a lot of things, but stepping up to help is one thing we do very well.
