Our family dog of 7 years, Buddy, was hit by a car tonight. As I write, my wife & my oldest have taken him to the vet and are waiting for the report back from Xrays. I know this crisis doesn't compare to the human suffering that we regulary deal with. But I would so much appreciate if you could offer up a prayer that our dog will get better if possible, and won't suffer too much if this is to be his end.
My girls and I appreciate it.

That sucks. I have a soft spot for dogs....losing one can be almost like losing a family member. Prayers for you and your family.

I completely understand. My dog is a huge part of my life and my family. I will run a mile for your dog and say a prayer.

Prayer works. Based on his looks last night -- barely walking dragging a leg behind, stomach bloated and purple, bleeding gash on his inner thigh, I figured we'd seen the last of Buddy.
I'm thrilled to tell you all that the xrays (which were finally taken about 3am -- a tranformer blew and the vet's office didn't have power most of the night) confirmed no broken bones and (unbelievably) no damage to internal organs (I was dead certain that he was bleeding internally).
Our mutt arrived home minutes ago with one of those inverted cone head gear get-ups, a bunch of stiches and a new appreciation for the dog vs car mis-match. He can also brag that, after the vet bill, he can claim the title of most expensive dog in the family -- edging out the boxer by a comfortable margin.
So we got a happy ending! Thanks for your prayers and kind words. Aggies are such good people!

awesome news Agnlaw...I'm glad to hear things worked out for you & your family...
Now the real question...are you going to play paper toss into the inverted lampshade on your dog's head? ;)
