I didnt have a problem with the block at the end but man thats pretty clear. it doesnt matter now and i have some pretty serious doubts sloan could have made the free throws but man thats awfully clear.

If that had been a player from ucla making the shot and was fouled like that, the refs would have made the call. I am not saying that the call is the reason we lost, but it would have been nice for the refs to call it both ways.

Thanks for posting the picture. In the game thread, I mentioned that I reviewed the play on Tivo and it looked clean. The camera shot was on the floor from the opposite goal. Obviously, this is much clearer.
This might have been a game altering call and refs don't like to make those.
In other news, Turgeon's remarks about Sloan are interesting for a head coach:
A&M coach Mark Turgeon was going for the throat on the game's pivotal play. He said the play was designed to get Dominique Kirk an open 3-point shot. Josh Carter was merely a decoy, Turgeon said. But "Sloan went crazy."
"I was going to run out of here with a one-point win," Turgeon said.
- From The Dallas Morning News
Can't say if I was Sloan, I'd want that from my coach publicly. And "I" was going to run out of here...How about "We" were going to run out of here...
Man, this is a frustrating way to go out. I would almost rather us trail the whole game and then fall short of winning it in the end than to lose like this. We had this game!

Things are clearer in slow-mo or looking at pictures. In real time, it looked like a clean block from most angles and most refs aren't going to blow the whistle and let a game be decided by free throws. We had a lot of opportunities to get those 2 points in the last 10 minutes and didn't take advantage.

How does a banned person get to post?
right now we arent preventing people from registering multiple accounts... you can register multiple accounts but we get notified as soon as you login with it. and if you notice his alternate accounts were banned as well (it just took a bit of time for it to register with our system and one of the mods to get on to actually ban the alternate accounts)
eventually when this is more of a problem we will restrict things more so it limits your registration ability but since this is rarely a problem we dont want to prevent people from registering (because our system isnt fool proof). the way it works can give false positives if you use public computers.

How does one get multiple accounts? Different usernames with same email address?
jagowar
03-23-2008, 04:26 PM
to register multiple accounts you need to pick a new username and use a different email. but as i said as soon as you try to use it we get notified.
this is one of the things that plague many internet sites where a banning doesnt mean anything because you can clear your cache and just register a new account but our system is more advanced.

They can't limit you to one username per IP address, because there are some couples who use this site (Vlyrock/MrsVlyrock and dre/dresbf) and maybe even some roommates who use the same connection.

Multiple usernames are weird. There are some people on texags busted having whole conversations with themselves.

our system doesnt use ip addresses.... and we have the ability to have it ignore all mods/admins as well as anybody else we specify (which we have needed to do once or twice). i forget who now but its come up a few times.

I understand we as an Aggie Nation should be pissed as hell about the bad no call:mad: against Sloan I know I am but we shouldn't be suprised. As I get every FSN market channel i've quite a few ucla games including the stanford game in which the refs game it to them as well as most of the Pac-10 tourney where much of the same happened. I agree to a degree with loftin that we had our chances that still doesn't excuse the fact that the game was clearky called one way in the second half. One could say this was almost as bad as the refs in the Georgia game in which they were given the SHAFT!. Here's to a great season AGGIES :gig: can't wait to see T-2 the rise of Turg  "i'll be back"

Sorry to quote myself but Pat Forde as much as I hate to agree with him just went over this topic of mine point by point on Espn first take basically saying Sloan was assualted while driving the lane lets hope Sloan takes this as a chip on his shoulder and takes it into next year:gig: should try to watch it on espn.com if u can find it they have nice clips proving the point as well as the shot at the top of this thread

We got robbed.
Meanwhile, where's the outrage over giving up a ten point lead to a team that was begging to get beat?
As far as Turg throwing Sloan under a bus, well, if Sloan didn't do as he was told, then he got what he deserved.
Part of what's missing from this team is discipline. If you're going to go your own way, you better be prepared to pay the consequences.

Couldn't agree more. That is what was so frustrating to me about this loss.

Couldn't disagree more! Good coaches reprimand and correct their players in the locker room, not at a press conference and not to reporters.

I agree as well... There is no reason for him to make this something public... Those are things that are left to the team and the locker room.
