Big XII Basketball????

Why the lack of attention???? Why the lack of props????

Everyone on every Sports Network will acknowledge that the Big XII is the 2nd Best Conference in the Nation & will even bring up the fact that the Big XII went 9-7 against the Pac 10 (Supposed to be the best conference).

All I see is talk about the Big East tourney, how the Big 10 is down, how the Pac 10 is great & how the SEC is down & Florida is a shell of itself now....

But little to nothing is being said about the Big XII...

In the last week or so very little info about KU.... same with tu (which might be a good thing cause I can't stand em ;) ), Other than Conference Standings, not much is said about OU, KSU, or any of the other teams in the Big XII Tourney or how the Big XII will do in the NCAA Tourney & NIT.....

It just really gets under my skin the lack of attention this conference gets....:mad:

A good example of this is the effort that Sloan put forth despite what his family is dealing with right now....

His Mom passed away & if he played for UCLA, Georgetown, Notre Dame, or some other school from a conference the media is in love with right now, the story would be on the cover of ESPN & Sloan would be Ooooed & Ahhhed by ESPN for his courageous effort...

Instead, other than local papers like SA Express, Dallas, & a couple of web sites like Websider & AgSports, you wont hear about it... Nothing at all....

You wont hear about Sloan or DJ's illness....

Sloan might not be the best player in the country, but his performance yesterday just hours after his mom passed, was nothing short of inspirational.... It showed his heart, his determination... Most kids his age would be home... Hell most of us who are if not older, twice as old as him wouldn't have been able to do what he did... On National TV....

I'm sure his family wants their privacy, but some sort of Props need to be given to the kid... What he did drew a standing "O" from me....

The Big XII is basically just flyover country. No one on the coasts cares about what happens in the middle of the country. I think in football they have to pay attention to the Big XII since there's not a lot of football being played in the NE, but w/ basketball, they can talk all day about what' happening on the east coast then mention the LA teams a few times and be done.
