Anyone watch the game last night????

I'm not looking to bash either team or start a pyssing contest.... Just looking to talk BBall.....

Frankly I can't figure out Dallas.... They have serious talent but seem unable to figure themselves out... JMO....

Houston on the other hand, I think Barkley said it best, they are playing similar ball to what the Suns were playing last year & the year before... Up tempo ball & they get a ton of really GOOD looks at the basket....

2 weeks ago or whenever Yao went down... I would have picked Dallas to make the playoffs & H-Town to be out, but now it might flip flop with Dallas missing it & H-Town not only getting in, but getting in as a 4 or 5 seed....

:gig: I like it, i have always been a rockets fan first, and will root for the other two if they make it further...

The only thing that kills me about SA is that the people in Austin think that the Spurs are their team too... This drives me crazy...

People in Austin are dumb.

We are obviously better with Yao than we are without him, but I think it took Yao getting injured for us to discover just how good Carl Landry is. He and Scola are the best rookies Houston has had since Yao Ming, by far.

Rafer Alston, on the other hand, was largely discounted in the preseason and expected to be traded. Instead, he's had a solid season, and he's been particularly good during this streak. McGrady is healthy (for now), while Battier has been the consistent contributor we've expected. Mutombo offers us great interior defense for limited minutes, while Bobby Jackson is an offensive spark off the bench.

The fact is, this is a damn good basketball team, even without Yao. There have been many times that teams have won it all with only one superstar and several quality role players. Olajuwon did it in 1994 with teammates like Maxwell, Thorpe, Elie, Horry, Smith and Cassel (who are all good players, but not all-stars).

Do I think we'll win it all this year? Probably not. The West has 9 teams who are very good, and then there's the Celtics as a likely Finals opponent. However, we're right up there in the conversation, even without Yao.

One thing is certain: this team is a ton of fun to watch.
