Brett Favre's legendary career is over. The Packers' record-setting quarterback told head coach Mike McCarthy on Monday night that he had decided to call it quits after 17 unforgettable seasons.

Great QB and great person. Will be odd not seeing him under center for the pack next season.

Thank goodness. I liked Farve, but he's getting old.

I thought Favre was pissed at the University and wanted nothign to do with them....he wouldn't let them use his name or likeness in any promotion....i don't know whrer I heard it or read but I'm pretty sure I'm not making it up.

Coming off a year where he led the Packers to the NFC Championship game is a high note, considering how bad the last 4-5 years have been for Green Bay.

Or you can look at it as a Glass 1/2 Full kind of situation, where a guy near 40 years old was still good enough to be 2 or 3 plays away from a Super Bowl....
And not because of a spectacular supporting cast or anything, but primarily because of what he brought to the team....
But it's cool.... if a glass 1/2 empty fits you, to each his own.

Kind of funny reading this thread now since a lot of our opinions of him might have changed.

....all these questions still & no firm answers....:undecided:

He may not have to if Simms goes to the Cowboys.
