Crazy that the top 9 teams in the west are separated by 5 games. One very good team is going to get screwed out of the playoffs.

I thought you were going to say that the Clippers or Grizzlies were the hottest team right now.

Yep. They were saying on 610 AM the other day that it is likely we'll see a 50-win team not make the playoffs this year for the first time ever, while the east will have multiple sub-.500 teams get in.

NBA is in my opinion the most boring pro sport. I have never been able to get a hold of it.

Too bad for you. I've been a die hard NBA fan since I was a baby and it is far and away the best pro sport. The games are the most exciting, the playoffs are the most exciting, and the players are easier to love or hate.

I would agree with you if we were in 1990-1996(ish)...when Jordan was in the league...
LeBron is really the only hope for the NBA achieving that level again (& they are riding that gravy train as much as they can...wisely).

besides it's all about the "Choosen One" Kobe Bryant and the Lakers as much as I hate Cali for the liberal hotbed it is Kobe is by far the best Nba player there is and i think with is 2 big men they will win it all. The spurs with duncan and the guy they just got from the sonics are the only thing that can stop them IMO

I disagree
The season is too long for for half the teams in the league to make the playoffs. Make it divison winners and a wild card.
50% of the teams in the NBA can't play fundamentally sound basketball
Atmosphere at NBA isn't nearly as exciting as college for regular season. NBA playoffs aren't nearly as exciting as March Madness.
College basketball is the better basketball for fans, which is why areas with good college teams generally have less attendence for the NBA teams. (Lakers but not clippers are an exception to this)
NBA games are too expensive for crappy tickets for as many games as they play. I understand football, they gotta make their money in a short 16 game schedule

MLB sucks. Why would the NBA want to turn itself into that trainwreck?
The Rockets won a championship as the #6 seed in 1995. Last year, the Warriors beat the #1 seed, while they were 8th. This year is an even better example. The top 9 teams in the west are only 5 games apart.

The NBA is a collection of the best basketball players in the world. If they aren't good enough for you, you don't understand the game.

Atmosphere is always better in college. That goes for every sport, not just basketball.

Then how would you explain the intense desire the Sonics have to move to Oklahoma City? OSU is a top caliber program in basketball. Charlotte also has a team that makes good money, and they are close to Duke, UNC, NC State and Wake Forest!

I'm going to a Rockets game a week from tomorrow for $11.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Yes the Rockets win streak is nice but it has come against par and subpar talent. It's not like they won 9 in a row against the Hornets, Suns, Mavericks, etc.
That being said, I think the local sports radio guys are right, there will be one team in the west that wins 50 or more games and gets left out of the playoffs.

Possibly, but right now it looks like the Warriors will be the odd team out.

Gee Loftin are you always so pompous :bored:
I guess I shouldn't answer because I don't understand the game
I had season tickets to the rockets going up, guess I didn't learn anything  (we split cost with another family so I guess technically half season)
