Dumb Question

How does the draft assign the order for rounds 2-6?

I know the first round is by standings...but then it always seems the other rounds are just jumbled around. How does that work...I would look it up, but I'm just too lazy.

I thought it was by record but trades had changed it all.

I just know that when there's a trade, normally, draft trackers and trade boards will say that team is picking there because of a trade. A lot of the times, they don't, but they're not picking in the same order.

Cause Buffalo picked 20 in the first round (But traded to Cowboys), 23 in 2nd round, 22 in 3rd round, 21 in 4th round, 20 in 5th round, 23 in 6th round, and 22nd in final round.

It's not consistent and they didn't trade away back and forth to move around 2-3 spots. I just don't get it.
