I had a great night at work last night. Here is why:

1) I arrested a child molester.
2) I had to go to the range and shoot.
3) I got paid to do both of the above.
4) My check from a second job arrived.

Now, as to the first item, it was unfortunate that the arrest went off without a hitch. I would have liked to have seen active resistance from the slimeball. Word is from the booking Deputies is that slimeball has a new boyfriend.

Going to the range and shooting afterwards was fun. However, there was not enough ammo for me. Maybe next time.

You should have just taken one for the team and practiced shooting the child molester.

Believe me, on the ride to jail, I did think a lot about "street justice".

I work for a Sheriff's Department.

so the follow-up question would probably be, "what county do you work for, if you don't mind me asking."

Dustin, I hate to do this, but I have to invoke my 5th Amendment Rights to that question. You probably should be able to figure out why.

Yeah, I'm with ya. Actually, that wasn't really for me...I was just assuming that is what Polish would be asking.

Come on Slotback. I need to know what county to speed in so that when I get pulled over, I can ask "Are you Slotback?" :)

I don't stop cars for speeding. I stop people for equipment violations. So your tail lights, head lights, and brake lights had better work!

So tell me where you work. I will speed by every sherriff that I see and if they pull me over, I will tell them that they can't give me a ticket b/c Slotback never pulls people over for speeding.

Ha ha ha. "You can't give me a ticket....." usually ends with you're right, you're under arrest.

And with gas moving towards $3.00 a gallon, why are you speeding? You must have a lot of money. Therefore you can afford the ticket. :)

Hey, Slot...give our guys a break. We all know that they have suspended DLs. That doesn't mean that you have to pull them over. ;)

Typical cop response! ;)

My truck gets the best gas mileage going 55mph, so that's how fast I go, not matter what the speed limit is. I also disregard school zones, construction zones, etc. That is the best way to get the most out of my $60 tank of gas. ;)

Actually, my dad was a Montgomery County Sheriff for a few years while I was growing up.

P-ville, your dad was a Sheriff's Deputy? Wow, they really would let anyone wear a badge back in the day. ;)

You never knew that? He actually was cleaning out his apartment a few weeks ago and gave me his badge, cuffs, night stick, belt, uniform, etc. Next time you're in town, we can get all dressed up like a sheriff, go beat up some people, and tell them that our name is Slotback!

Just kidding Slotback! Please don't come arrest me!

I was pulled over for driving 79 in a 55, in a construction zone with workers present. Also, I was driving a company car that the boss forgot to put the proof of insurance into. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. I was handcuffed, patted down, the car was searched, and I was given a $586 speeding ticket.

That is one pricey ticket. Which is proof positive of why we should all slow down.

And I don't beat up people. There are some that I would like to practice unarmed combat techniques on. Usually prior to leaving the office. :D The public however doesn't give me too many problems. Even when I have to go into some rough neighborhoods and talk to people. Maybe it's my low key approach - which is most of the time.
