I don't understand why you would purchase the ring. It has someone else's name on it! $250 saved or not, I wouldn't want it. My parents are buying my ring as a graduation gift, but in the event I couldn't afford one I'd certainly wouldn't buy someone else's.

I don't think that the people that buy them actually went to (or graduated from) A&M. I think that the people that buy them use them like a diploma since most people won't question an Aggie ring.

Also, its hard to judge someone without knowing their situation. Maybe he or she needs the money to feed their family, and rather than beg, borrow, or steal they do the responsible thing and sacrifice a luxury. You can make the point that if they can afford internet access, a digital camera, and a computer the ring should have priority, but again, we don't know what their situation is.

Exactly adam...and it is not like ebay lets you sell anything for free...I think this is a pawn shop or thief that is trying to get rid of the loot. There are too many other things that we all have that we can sell or get rid of before giving up our ring.

My girlfriend just ordered hers exactly like that one, (10k, size 5.25, no diamond, shiny) it is NOT close to $500...
It was only $396, plus if she had been before '07 it only would have added like $40.

$250.00 isn't likely going to solve any life-threatening problems, especially for someone who has Internet access. :undecided:

Sucks. :(

We still need to give him the benefit of the doubt. We don't know what situation he is in.
