Customers say when they bought a new phone, Cingular employees asked if they wanted their old one donated to charity.

Larimer County, CO -- Some Cingular Wireless customers feel deceived and angry after cell phones they thought they had donated to charity, were instead sold on eBay.

It's actually a pretty smart scam, but what the hell

It happens a lot more than people think. I have a buddy back in Colleyville that has a girl at his cinglar store who is infatuated with him and she will ask the people if they want them donated to charity and them hold onto them and give them to him so he can do an insurance claim and get the newest phone. It's really kind of ****ty,

Don't even get me started on Cingular. I still "owe" them $700 for one month of service from 4 years ago (since according to them, my cell phone plan did not include long distance, even though I provided them my signed contract saying that it did).

Yeah I'm right there with you, I switched over after they told me that I wouldn't have roaming anywhere in Texas or long distance and then I had 400 bucks in roaming and long distance fees. I was still in high school at the time so my dad took them our contract and they acted like they didn't know what we were talking about so he told them basically to F#ck off. Now we have sprint and i don't know if i hate sprint or cingular more.

I have never had any problems with Sprint. Every single month by cell phone bill is the exact same amount. I can't say that I've ever seen that since I first got a cell phone in '95.

Oh sprint doesn't fluctuate, i was a little misleading with that comment, but i'm pissed at them b/c the reason we switched to them is b/c they told us we would have service at our ranch and we have none. That's the reason i'm pissed at them, and i ask them about it and they say well we would've never said that. But whatever they want to believe.

yeah, that would suck. But can anyone get a signal on any cell phone service out there? If not, its a mute point.

Yeah my buddies with Cingular have full service. And my aunt who has the crappiest sprint phone they have has full service. So i asked Sprint, what is the deal, i have a 200 dollar phone and hers was free, and she has full service but i don't. And he was like well that makes no sense. So i've gone through 3 phones and none of them have service, but sprint apparently has no idea what the problem is. I don't know. I guess i shouldn't be pissed at them, but it's just rediculous.

That is crazy. Sometimes I don't understand cell phones. My wife & I have the exact same phone, same service, everything, & there are times when I hit a dead area, have no signal, & she has 4 bars. Its just one of those things that we may never understand.

Cell phone companies need to stop worrying about adding video capability, cameras, TV signals, etc to their phones and make one that keeps a consistent signal. I'd pay alot more for a phone that had a guaranteed signal with no other options than the junk they sell you now that only lasts a year.
