I am glad the Giants won.... I am tired of hearing about the AFC being so much better, yada, yada, yada...... blah, blah, blah.......
I am tired of the AFC the way I'm tired of the SEC...
While I hate the orginization.... I say thank you NY Giants....
Thanks for SHUTING UP THE AFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:gig:
And thanks for shuting up some lil highschool kid who flip flopped from the Texans & the Pats & who earlier this year said the NFC East wasn't 1/2 as tough as the AFC & that the NFC East sucked....
LOL.... sucks to be him....

AFC = overall a way better conference
that being said, the Gmen deserved to win tonight, they whooped that Pat OLine a$$
you can have Tom Brady & Randy Moss and whoever else but football breaks down pretty simply
football = OLine + DLine + tackling

The AFC is better because they are. Just like Shiner is better than Natural Light because it is.

How about the best teams in the AFC have a better record vs the NFC then the best teams in the NFC did vs the AFC. (this eliminates the Miami's and San Francisco's from padding the other conferences stats)
NE beat: Dallas, NYG, Was, Phi (4-0 vs NFC)
Indy beat: NO, TB, CAR, ATL (4-0 vs NFC)
SD beat: Chi, Det (lost to GB, Min) (2-2 vs NFC)
Jax beat: ATL, TB, CAR (lost to NO) (3-1 vs NFC)
Pitt beat: SF, STL, SEA (lost to ARI) (3-1 vs NFC)
TEN beat: NO, ATL, CAR (lost to TB) (3-1 vs NFC)
NFC:
Dallas beat: MIA, BUF, NYJ (lost to NE) (3-1 vs AFC)
GB beat: SD, DEN, KC, Oak (4-0 vs AFC)
TB beat: TEN (lost to IND, JAX, HOU) (1-3 vs AFC)
SEA beat: CIN, BAL (lost to Pit, CLE) (2-2 vs AFC)
NYG beat: BUF, NYJ, MIA (lost to NE) (3-1 vs AFC)
WAS beat: MIA, NYJ (lost to BUF, NE) (2-2 vs AFC)
PLAYOFF TEAMS
AFC vs NFC (19-5)
NFC vs AFC (15-9)
There's one example...

So now your changing it to the Top AFC teams instead of the AFC as whole which was initially said & the original argument to begin with????
AFC = overall a way better conference
C'Mon now... ANyone can go both ways to scew the numbers, but fact is fact... head to head it was 32-32 with the Giants winning the Super Bowl....
Which honestly in the past normally trumps the regular season match-up because in previous years where the Pats or Colts had won the Super Bowl, the NFC in 2 of those years had a better record against the AFC....
Also... it's funny how the teams the NFC lost to were all above .500 excpet for Washington losing to Buffalo....
But if you look at the AFC "Best Teams", they lost to Arizona, New Orleans & Minnesota.....

I never changed anything. You asked why people say the AFC was better than the NFC. Well, it's because the better teams in the AFC did better.
If you want to claim San Francisco wins over Cincinatti or Atlanta wins over Houston as proof that the NFC is better than the AFC (or on par) -- then keep riding it -- I'm not the one calling you out.

I never mentioned San Fran over Cinci or Atlanta over Houston.....
I used your post....
NE beat: Dallas, NYG, Was, Phi (4-0 vs NFC)
Indy beat: NO, TB, CAR, ATL (4-0 vs NFC)
SD beat: Chi, Det (lost to GB, Min) (2-2 vs NFC)
Jax beat: ATL, TB, CAR (lost to NO) (3-1 vs NFC)
Pitt beat: SF, STL, SEA (lost to ARI) (3-1 vs NFC)
TEN beat: NO, ATL, CAR (lost to TB) (3-1 vs NFC)
I'd go lower... but seeing how only 3 teams in the NFC finished with fewer than 7 losses, it's kinda hard....

AFC is better because the more exciting players are in the AFC.
AFC: Brady, Moss, LT, P. Manning, Chad Johnson, unfortunatey VY, Ray Lewis, Roethlesburger?, Marcus Jones Drew, Andre Johnson. = 10
NFC: Romo?, Owens, AD, Urlacher?, Favre, Bush. = 6
Also, it is just common sense. AFC is better. Kinda like Beer is good.

Even with the Giants winning the superbowl, the AFC top 5 is better than the NFC top 5. The NFC had 2 9-7 teams in the playoffs and the AFC had a 10-6 team that did not get in. After that, you could argue that the conferences are pretty close. I would say that the NFC bottom 5 is better than the AFC bottom 5, so really, I think the conferences are pretty close if not equal. There is no doubt that the AFC has dominated the last few years, but I don't think that just because the superbowl champ is out of the NFC this year, it makes them the better conference. It all goes in cycles. The NFC dominated for 15 years in the 80's and mid 90's. Now its the AFC and will probably swith back in a couple of years when the Pats, Colts and Chargers get old, and the Cowboys get better and the Packers will become really good if they can get a good QB after Farve.

So all it takes is 5 Teams for a WHOLE Conference to be better???? :stupid:

As I stated earlier...if you want to ride Arizona, San Francisco and other bottom feeders of your league to make the conferences equal (go for it).

No, as stated in the rest of my post, I said the conferences are pretty equal, just the AFC's top 5 is better. I think that creates the perception that the AFC is stronger.
