This is how Scout.com does their evaluating....

ABOUT OUR TEAM RANKINGS
Scout.com team football recruiting rankings are based on the Talent, Need and Balance of players committed to that school. We consider only players who have made a Verbal or Soft Verbal commitment to that school. We include high school, prep school and junior college players in our analysis.

Talent - This category reflects the quality of players committed to that school. Teams must recruit difference-makers throughout their class to obtain a high ranking.

Need - This is analysis of whether the team needs are being met at each position. This value is capped per position type (i.e., a team does not receive extra credit for overloading at a position).

Balance - Teams must be represented at every position by players of each body type. Securing balance in every recruiting class is a necessity due to the injuries and attrition that are part of college football.

ABOUT OUR PLAYER EVALUATIONS
Scout.com's player evaluations are made by our team of Recruiting Experts, who attend off-season combines and camps on college campuses, go to hundreds of games, and review miles of game film. Starting in June each year, the Scout.com recruiting staff makes monthly updates to our consensus player rankings.

ABOUT OUR EXPERTS
Scout.com's Recruiting Experts (http://recruiting.scout.com/3/bios.html) work in every region of the country and cover every Division I-A football team and conference. Led by Jamie Newberg and Allen Wallace, our team collectively possesses over 100 years of experience covering college football recruiting. There's no "I" in "Team"

Next to the national player rankings, recruiting fans want to know how their favorite team stacks up in the race for the recruiting national championship. Rivals100 has developed a state of the art point system for the team rankings that allows teams to be rewarded for landing the top players in a number of different criteria areas.

Teams are awarded points through a formula that rewards them for both the quantity of commitments and the quality of those players. Prospects with higher star ratings earn more points for the school to which they commit; prospects that are ranked among the top at their positions earn still more points; and prospects that are ranked on the Rivals 100 earn even more bonus points.

The team rankings will be updated once a day in the early morning hours until we move closer to signing day when team rankings will be updated on a more timely manner. So that way as the recruiting wars begin to heat up, you can see how your favorite team does in the battle for the recruiting national championship.

Using this formula Rivals.com has A&M Ranked 15th...

I think their all stupid. What would be sweet is if you got coaches all over the country to rank the top 25 or 50+ players, then you could really see who everyone wanted.

The fact that Johnny Jolly was a 2-star and one site had J-Train as a 3-star make me distrust the rankings for the most part. I remember a few years back when rivals had us rated higher than scout, Aggies were all saying rivals was biased and run by sips. In the last couple of years, that's what everyone has been saying about scout.

I haven't heard anyone say that about Scout..... Why would anyone say Scout is run by a sip when Scout has A&M higher... Infact according to Scout, A&M has the best class in the Big XII....

Rivals on the other hand... Have traditionally ranked tu higher than A&M & in the rare occasion A&M is higher, tu is given a higher AVG Star Rating for their class...

But what's funny about that, is that in itself goes against Rivals.com way of ranking classes... Supposedly if you have better players, your class goes higher... There are more inconsistencies with Rivals than there is with Scout.com...

By the way, could there be a reason that Ketchum is often featured on Orangebloods.com a Rivals website????

I'm just saying... that in the 5 years I've been surfing Rivals.com, I haven't heard any Aggie complain about Scout.com the way they complain about Rivals.com.....

They also had the A&M class higher than both OU & tu.... Only Scout.com has our class higher than their classes now....
