He enjoyed his trip, he even went as far as to say he could see himself at A&M...but he didn't commit, he didn't cancel officials. Aside from being out of state, here's maybe another reason he isn't pulling the trigger on the aggs

--WR Position--
SR - Howard Morrow, Pierre Brown
JR - EJ Shankle, Jamie McCoy, Cody Beyer
SO - Roger Holland
FR - Sedrick Johnson, Jeff Fuller

Look, before someone else says this, everyone knows these kids love to compete and like challenges and love stepping up in a competitive situation--they're not afraid of a little competition. But when the team that is a little over a 1,000 miles away from home already has 2 4-star commitments IN YOUR CLASS who are also 6-4, 200 lbs, why wouldn't you go play for a Petrino or Mizzou?

I doubt he's afraid of the competition of the more senior members of the WR corps, but you can only put so many WR's on the field at one time. I don't see us landin' this kid:undecided:

we will move some of those athletes to defense...and I'm sure the coaching staff made that clear...

I know we wanted Lamar Harris on the other side of the ball, but I'm afraid after next weekend he won't be commited to us anymore:sad:

Quote from Scout.com on Boyd & his visit....

http://tamu.scout.com/2/720268.html (http://tamu.scout.com/2/720268.html)

“He says he’s running a pro-style offense and that he needs receivers,” Boyd said. “He didn’t make any promises, but he said I would have an opportunity to play as a true freshman. He said I was a piece of the puzzle that he needs and said I reminded him of Andre Johnson (http://tamu.scout.com/a.z?s=187&p=8&c=1&nid=2980358) of the Texans.”

I don't think Depth is an issue.... Especially if Sherman is telling him that he could see the field as a true Fish....

If he doesn't sign with the good guys, it will be for another reason...

Either he got along better with another coach or felt a better fit in another system or something along those lines...

Whatever happens with future visits, Boyd did make it clear that Texas A&M helped itself this weekend and they will be considered when that decision time comes.

“I’m not a guy that likes to talk leaders or rank teams,” Boyd said. “But I can say that I had a great time at A&M and I can see myself going there. They will be one of the schools I consider at the end.”

to me, this speaks volumes about the kid...sounds like he has his head on straight through the (often-ego massaging) recruiting process...

I REALLY hope we land him now!!!

I can see depth being an issue when you consider that there are 2 other 4* WRs and 2 4* ATHs in this class that could play a receiver position (though I'd like to see them on defense). But I don't think him not committing or not cancelling other visits is a big deal. A&M is new to him. This is his first visit down here and the idea of playing here and for Sherman is new. It doesn't surprise me, given that, that he wasn't ready to commit on the spot. Not saying that he will end up w/ the Ags, but it doesn't make me rule it out on the other hand.

Morrow should be a JR because of this year's medical redshirt, right?
