Color me impressed with KU. I really thought they'd be completely outclassed in this game but apparenlty Kansas is for real....
I cannot believe they came this far with all that "2-star" talent on the team. How on earth that basketball school could surpass us this much in football is stunning.
But hey, we're closing in on them in basketball!
In all seriousness......while I'm proud for them and can only imagine how fired up the student body and alums must be....it annoys the snot out of me!

That basketball school has outclassed most of the country so far this year. It's tough to root against them...they' seem like a classy team

Just had to go to another commercial because a band member was down on the field. Must have been a physical half time show.

Gonna be an interesting second half. Hope Kansas can hold on to it (for the Big XII's sake)

I'd like to see KU win but it is starting to look like VT has found their balance. Mangino needs to go ahead and turn the page on the playbook. VT has figured out the first half stuff.

Let's keep complimenting KU. Our defense DID hold KU to their lowest offensive output this year in (19 points, tied with CU) and their 2nd narowest margin of victory (8 points).....
Just looking for moral victories. :(

So weird that KU plays "hot time" after touchdowns.

KU's fight song really really sounds like the last part of the war hymn. I mean it is really close.

Many of those kids weren't recruited by the schools in Texas or Oklahoma.....

Also... sad to see that they wont even have a chance at the Chip with a 12-1 record....

The big guy can coach, no doubt about it. I was impressed with the Kansas victory - congrats to them.

ku played a great game and has fought hard all year long. No doubt they deserved to be in that game. Mangino has done an excellent job at Kansas and has done the same type of thing there that has happened at A&M. He has made ku relevant in football and basketball (obviously ours happened the opposite).

Yet, Mangino isn't awarded coach of the year awards. That went to Ron Zook @ Illinois. Very disappointing...

I don't think Mangino deserved coach of the year... It's not like his schedule was brutal or anything... at least Illinois played Missouri.

Ummm....so did Kansas. And then, they beat Top 5 Virginia Tech... but that's what happens when you give out awards before the season's over. :)

KU is one of the better coached teams top to bottom that I've seen. They never get penalties, limit turnovers, create turnovers and never quit.

Mangino did win coach of the year.
He was named the 2007 National Coach of the Year by the Associated Press, ESPN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESPN), The Sporting News (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sporting_News) and he has been named the Woody Hayes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woody_Hayes) National Coach of the Year.[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Mangino#_note-2)[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Mangino#_note-3) He was also named the 2007 Walter Camp Coach of the Year (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Camp_Coach_of_the_Year).[ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Mangino#_note-WCCOY)

What I don't like about that or what KU did this year, is now it tells everyone out there, just schedule cup cakes when you don't play the Power Houses in your conference & you will get a BCS Bowl, Your Coach will win Coach of the Year, Your Players will be drafted high, you get a shot at better recruits & you get more media coverage for the simple fact that you played a Schedule ranked 74th in the country.
While a team like Missouri who had the 14th Ranked Toughest Schedule gets hosed...

I don't think you can blame ku for what happened to mizzou. The BCS selection committee is what screwed mizzou. ku is just trying to build a program and doing it the way most schools would. They want to build confidence in the program by winning games. Therefore they are not scheduling tougher opponents where possible. The BCS is who put them in the orange bowl.
You could make the case that we did something similar a few years ago in basketball. It was about playing teams you knew you could beat and proving to your players that your system works if they work hard.

I just think that schools should not be allowed to make their own schedule.... That should be done by a seperate party.

Name a BCS conference team that really schedules a tough non conference schedule year in and year out.

"Never got penalties" is a bit of a stretch, but they were probably one of th eleast-penalized teams of the conference and I agree with your sentiments.
Besides the generally classy way they handle themselves on the field, they handled themselves off the field pretty well also, including dealing with the press barrage as their undefeated season progressed up to Missouri. They had a consistent "take it one game at a time" approach, and I don't recall any players making any brash victory garuntees.
