I don't really get into recruiting so much anymore (I was way obsessed with it in the RC era) but the last years I just stopped and waited until February. For one reason the whole verbal commits with 17 year olds just frustrates me to no end.
But with us at a crossroads I'm really interested but don't have a clue to our recruiting situation. Or, how we look compared to everyone else and who we have on deck.
So what are the basic things people need to know so far as far as our recruiting goes....
If this is too vague just tell me to screw off and find out on my own. My feelings won't be hurt!

A&M recruited 6 solid, but not mind-blowing offensive linemen for this class. A Stephen McGee clone at quarterback named Tommy Dorman. Athletes that could start in the secondary, wide receiving core, and running back positions-include Derrick Hall and Lamar Harris. Many running backs are still interested, only two are viable options though- Aundre Dean and Cyrus Gray. The strengths of the class are the defensive line and wide receivers. The DL has five 4-star caliber recruits in Kapron Lewis-Moore, Rod Davis, Matt Moss, Tony Jerod, and Adren Dorsey. One of the better kickers in the country, Randy Bullock, is a solid commit. The sleeper group of this bumper crop of talent is the secondary. Trent Hunter, Keon Furtch, and Jordan Fields are all kids with tons of athletic ability that could be great with Van Malone's development. K.J. Williams is a dual threat athlete who is a monster threat on the defensive line and at TE, as is Blake Chavis who is the brother of freshman Billy Chavis. WR has gotten College Station excited with two 6-4, 205 4-star studs at the position. Jeff Fuller and Sedrick Johnson will compete for starting positions next year. Johnson could also be playing on the basketball team- no relation to Jerrod. The LBs have great instinct and all of them have the potential to be a fullback. These include Andrew Wolridge, Aaron Buckley, and Kyle Mangan. Look for this class as addressing of the vital needs for years to come and it should be a Top 15 or 20 class. Remaining targets include Aaron Boyd, a 4-star WR from Kentucky. Simi Kuli, the #1 JUCO prospect overall and at defensive line. The class is almost full, so the offers are slim. Enjoy the class because they will be a joy to watch for 4-5 years. :gig:

I'm pretty excited about Buckley...were many other schools after him (from Palacios)?
seems that he flew a little under the radar...

Thanks for the rep. Yes, Buckley is definitely a sleeper who could be a bust or could be another solid linebacker. We were the first to show the interest and that was all he was looking for.
