My Brother just told me that Tellus told the team after the game he was going pro. Stephen told my Brother today. Also Stephen said Tellus was real emotional and cried.

I think it was never in doubt that he would go this year:sad:

I wish him all the best

I think he should stay another year. With a new coaching staff coming in and implementing a new system, he could definitely enhance his draft status, which would increase his cash flow. It's a mistake in my opinion, but I wish him the best of luck and success.

I'm with you cyanide...unless he's a first round pick, I think he could improve his status by coming back for his senior year...

he's great (and got the physical numbers), but he's yet to show it on the field, which I think pro scouts will want to see as well.

Man, it seems like just yesterday he was a senior in HS watching the game at Reed on a visit. Time flies.

I hope that he contacts the NFL Eval system before declaring.

its going to be interesting to see how high he goes... i dont see any way short of blowing everybody away at the combine he is a 1st round pick. his stats havent been that great this season (not his fault) and there are a number of te's that will go ahead of him.

i'd go if i were him also. we never involved him in any game as much as his talent deserved. he could have had a HUGE college career stat-wise, but fran and co. didn't give him the ball enough. good luck to him in the NFL. :gig:

I agree 100%... I had always hoped that we would use him similar to what Miami did with Kellen Winslow when he was in College... He was Miami's go to guy all the time... Epsecially in crunch time & they always took advantage of his height against Safties regardless of who they were & what team they were playing...

Martellus will be, at worst, a third rounder, based on his size and athleticism alone. I'm not upset, because I've expected him to go pro after his junior year since the day he committed to A&M.

Martellus has been a great player and fun personality for this team the last three years. He's the most red-assed Aggie who bought into the traditions more than any player I can remember. I'm very grateful for what he's done and wish Martellus the best.

Gig'em in the NFL.:flag:

well there goes our passing

This will not effect our passing game, because we didn't utilize him the way we should have to start with. Besides, we have good receivers currently on the team and other good ones coming in. No one will ever know how much we will lose if Bennett leaves. We just never used him to his full potential.

he will be a 2nd rounder...a good combined will move him up...a bad combine and he probably stays a second ronder and doesn't slip

With his size, I think he will be a first round pick. Our scheme this year, IMO, did not fully utilize his skills. :gig:

6'7" with speed, good hands and an even better blocker. Unlike the Missouri "Tight Ends" he actually played next to a tackle and was near the top of the team in pancakes the last two years.

He's a rare combination and if he goes in the second round will be a steal in my opinion.

Not only all the above, but the man loves the game and loves to compete. We all saw it every game...I have no issues wtih him leaving.

Yeah, the NFL really frowns upon players like Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, etc.

The media loves Martellus. He's always good for funny sound bytes, but he never says anything disrespectful about other people.

Tellus' antics has never been over the top or gone beyond what is considered good taste and sportsmanship. I've never seen him talk trash to an opposing player. He's the epitimy of good sportsmanship and dedication to team and individual performance. He makes football fun to watch. As a selfish person, I would love to see him stay for his senior year, but if he will be a first day pick, he would be foolish not to go pro.
