I've been contemplating this today, and I can't help but think that A&M has nothing to lose in the game tomorrow night (but does have something to gain). Why would I think this?

What happens if we lose? Really -- nothing. We know that our new coaching staff isn't coaching this game. We know that they've had no input on what type of offense to run or how to run it, so there's no real "indication" of the future based on the outcome of this game. If we lose, then it's the fault of a coaching staff on it's way out.

However, if we win, then it's a trumpeting point during recruiting. The talent we fielded, even with the program in shambles, was able to win the Alamo Bowl vs Penn State. Imagine it next year with a real game plan and solidity within the program...

Thoughts?

Hmm...Our seniors have something to lose, their last game in a somewhat homefield advantage scenario...

I think recruiting will be boosted if we win.:gig:

the coaching staff has something to prove....b/c of insinuations about les calling all the offensive plays for the tu game. They are trying to put that on their resume and try and leave on a good note. I have seen Darnell say many times "this is for the kids" Personally i see some good stories with this...as well as the seniors, they've not won a bowl game being at A&M...so it could be something for them to prove.

But in the grand scheme of things, not many fans are excited about this game on our side b/c its in between coaches, and we can use that excuse if we lose.

Something to prove, yes -- something to lose -- no.

Nothing really to lose, but a lot to gain.

Seniors and Martellus can improve draft status. Coaches can put on a good showing so that other schools give them a shot. The program can gain momentum in recruiting.
