Many people thougt that Rich Rodriguez would never leave his alma mater, but I guess money is more important than loyalty to your school

I'd like to see WVU go after Leach now.

Wow... Michigan is just raiding West Virginia. First, Beiline in basketball last year, now Rodriguez in football.
I think Rodriguez did this at the right time. After White and Slaton leave, it'll be hard to duplicate the success he had (even though there are some talented freshman there (like Noel Devine)).

Rich will probably change the grind it out football tradition at Michigan. They could be dangerous quick in the spread offense. Look out Bucky.

That would be interesting.... Lord knows he would be able to drink as much as he wants... and with UofL on a down spin & the only real competition coming from USF & possibly Rutgers.... WVU could really utilize his offense to make a BCS Bowl game that he wouldn't make in the Big XII.

Why would any school want to hire Terry Bowden. The guy ran away from the Auburn team during the middle of a season, immediately after signing a contract extension and has been in the broadcasters chair for several years. Just think there would be some better choices out there. I think I would be more excited about a lower tier coach that has been coaching over TB.

i think for rodriguez, it came to a point of what else will he be able to accomplish at wvu. yes, he is a native of wv, walked on and is good friends with a lot of high level people in wv, including the governor, but what else can he do at wvu?? wvu's football stadium only holds what, 60,000 fans?? also wv is one of the poorest states in the nation. additionally he was only (i say this loosely) $1.5 mill.....
he has a chance to go to michigan and coach in front of 100,000+ fans each week, has a legit shot at mnc's, and doubled his salary to $3 million. to me, it looks like a no brainer for rodriguez to make this move. for him, if he did not take this opportunity now, there is no telling when he would have another opportunity like this, if ever......
