The region’s collegiate accrediting organization placed Texas Tech University on probation Tuesday for failing to show that its curriculum produced college-level competency.

Really is one step above community college.
At least you can transfer from a JUCO or a CC to a real college or university. If they end up not being accreditted, then I'm guessing credits from TCEH won't count toward transfers to other colleges.

Quick question... if they end up not being accreditted.... would they be allowed to play D-1A football???

True, don't want to ruin the academic image of DIA football. ;)
I have no idea how that stuff fits in. Or if the conference would have standards on that that differ from the NCAA. That actually seems more possible.
