The talk of sports talk radio today in Kansas City is that KU bribed their way into the Orange Bowl. Apperently the KU AD called Orange Bowl officials and said that the school would gaurantee a sellout and would buy all remaining unsold tickets.

I am sure this is not the first time this has happened. Until you have a playoff you will always have back door politics that play into decision making.

Mack Brown knows alot about back door politics.

Well those are some pretty hefty allegations. There's really no way to prove it though unless somebody wants to go digging through phone records. What was the source for the talk show host or did they give one?

Not really sure of the source, but they had some guy from college football news talking about it.

I wonder if this does actually happen all the time like someone previously speculated? I'd like to think it doesn't based solely on the idea of fairness, but who knows i guess

The bowls are about money -- which is why we won't get a playoff. They say it's for the student athlete, but it's not.
I'm not surprised that this happened.
