28 bowls have been approved for this season. That's 56 out of 119 Div 1-A Teams. Wow!
The Silicon Valley Bowl didn't get renewed.
There will be one newly licensed bowl for the upcoming postseason. The subcommittee licensed the organizers of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl to conduct a second bowl for the 2005-06 season.

So roughly half of D1 teams get to go bowling :o . Don't know how I feel about that, but it doesn't sound like much has changed. I really think they need some type of a playoff system. Somebody has got to figure out a way of incorporating the bowls into a playoff, then everone would be happy.

Yeah, I agree...in fact, we should start a thread for possible solutions to have a playoff scenario.

The thought that there isnt enough time for a playoff is absurd.
There is more then enough time and adding a 12th game and the time off between bowls proves that.

Playoffs are NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. PERIOD
And that is in my top 5 list of things that suck ass of all time. Next to clowns even.
Let's just give everybody a bowl game and call it a 13th game.
