Smith is going #1, imo.

Rodgers won't fall as far as some thing. I think he gets still in the Top 7-8

Smith the 1st pick!

Best qb in the draft for a qb deficient team, good pick imo

Ronnie Brown was the right pick. You can't trust ricky and their offense is based on a great running game. If they felt he was the top back then it was the smartest pick the could have made.

Edwards, wow thats a heck of an offense with Edwards and Winslow(assuming he comes back). However Dilfer is not the qb to get them the ball. Hell a jeff george type would be better. Dilfer can be good in a running offense where he makes short throws but with the personel the browns have the need to draft a qb now

Edwards will be a bust, imo.

Drops a lot of passes

I agree, he's a good deep threat, but thats not worth that pick

Since sweetness, Chicago is the place where rbs die. Good luck to benson i hope he does well, but I personally like the caddie more

What the hell was Benson talking about?

soreal
04-23-2005, 12:23 PM
Benson has been trying to escape out of Ricky William's shadow for the past year which is a big reason why he cut his hair. His freshman year he was talking about how Ricky Williams was his idol so once Williams started tripping and Benson getting in trouble people started to make comparsions so i'm guessing in his interviews they were talking about that and some weren't interested because of it.

Where do you think Derrick Johnson will fall? To Houston maybe?

What's Detroit doing? They have 3 great WR's now...but did they really need Mike Williams from USC? That makes Roy Williams, Mike Williams, and Charles Rogers...

Derrick Johnson just got picked by Kansas City. That's good for KC, they need a D.

How about Aaron Rogers still being on the board? Some of these lower teams are going to get a steal if they can get him.

Houston's up...predictions on who they take?

Aaron Rodgers finally off the board at Pick 24 - Green Bay Packers. Great luck for him. Learn from Brett Favre, no pressure. Good for him. :D

I agree Vlyrock Detroit picked a WR with a top 10 pick 3 years in a row. I think there had to be other needs that could have been filled or a trade down.

I'mglad the texans took at DT but i wish we could have gotten DJ

Ah man, if Green Bay hadn't picked him, he would have slipped to the 2nd round.

Luis Castillo for the Bolts? What the heck? Could they have not gotten somebody better with their pick?

AggieWill

Castillo was talked very highly on ESPN

What's up, no discussion on the Cowboys picks? I route for both the Boys and the Texans, but Mrs. MarylandAG has got to be biggest Cowboys fan around. Pretty happy with the picks, looks like we will be able to put pressure on the QB. I think last year the CB's were kind of out on an island, because QB's had all day, hopefully that will change this year. Newman needs to step it up big time, next year.

I'm pretty happy with the Texans pick, I wish they would have picked DJ as well

Another thing I haven't seen discussed is Matt Jones getting picked in the first round as a WR. Can't remember who picked him, think maybe Jack Del Rio and the Panthers. What do you all think, good or bad pick? Personally, I think he will do well, but I'm not necassarily convinced he should have been in the first round. Thoughts?

Maryland, there's actually another thread dedicated to Matt Jones...I think he shouldn't have gone that high. Too much of a ?

when Parcells was asked to compare Ware to a former player of his he responded, "He wore number 56" aka LT. Thats pretty damn freakin high praise. Thats puts too many espectations on him and probably raised his salary

I don't understand why the 'Boys took two DE in the first round. Couldn't they have used a good WR? Oklahoma WR Clayton and UAB WR Roddy White were still on the board. Bledsoe is going to need targets to throw too. That's what his problem was in his 2nd year with the Bills (after Peerless Price bolted for Atlanta).

polish

Spears is a DE
Ware is OLB most likely
On the WR issue, I guess he thinks bledsoe and glenn still works a decade later

True...what do you think of the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets taking K Mike Nugent at pick 47 in the 2nd round?

polish

About Nugent, i'll put it in Olsen terms

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Vlyrock
04-24-2005, 12:05 PM
I don't know. Nugent is a kicker that's probably one of the best that's come out of college in the past 10 years. Any time you can find somebody that can you get 3 points from the 37 yard line every time...you have to draft him if you think the team behind you is going to take them...

Plus they got the guy they wanted to take in the 2nd round when he was still available for their 3rd round pick.

polish
04-24-2005, 12:13 PM
I just think you never draft a kicker, b/c you can find really good ones in fa. They have more holes to just draft a kicker. Stupid kicker

Reports out of Baton Rouge say that Parcells has already told Spears to lose weight before he comes to camp.
