just a couple notes for those of you who may be interested
Phillip Daughtery, who was supposed to be the next qb at tech (red-shirted during symons season) has left the team. He was touted as possibly becoming some bigtime passer and they even gave him kliff kingsburys number. well he rode the pine behind cumbie and hodges last year and once graham harrell came into the picture he decided it was time to go. :undecided . . . sorry phil but tech has moved on from you i guess.....
good news for us is that our big samoan tight end will be back after supposedly leaving the team. he had 5 TD catches last season and is a very physical player.
meanwhile the newspapers say that the starter job is in question as graham harrell is apparently stunning coaches.... he did not throw a single incomplete pass in one of last weeks practices and is currently geting 50% of the reps alongside cody hodges. in recent years a qb has been picked by now and the reps were cut to 66%, 33%.
im moderatly undecided on the whole issue. i think starting a freshman would be good in teh long run but would possibly hurt us this year and we have some key seniors that we cannot afford to lose after a season with a noob under center. (taurean henderson, and virtually our entire secondary)
if we did have a four year starter can you imagine the records he would break

Or it could just mean that neither one of them are good enough & Leach hasn't made a trip to the liquor store to help him determine how to handle this situation ;).

I'm more worried about Graham Harrell than Cody Hodges

Phillip D. transferring doesn't surprise me at all. From what I have read and seen, he hasn't been the QB they expected but should do fine in a normal set offense somewhere else. Leach has a history of not letting Tech players transfer to other Big 12 schools. If that stays true, you might see him pop up in the SEC or maybe a team like TCU.
Either one will be fine this year (Harrell is supposed to be a very good runner when he was at Ennis HS). I know my wife (a Tech grad) is tired of this 5th year senior QB stuff but I keep telling her whoever it is, Tech has the WRs and Henderson who will help him out early until he gets going. Tech's first 4 games will be like an on-field cake-walk/practice for them so their problems should be worked out by the KU game. Tech also has a fish coming in this year (he will be RSed) named Chris Todd who is supposed to be a VERY good QB and might challenge for the job next year, especially if Hodges wins the battle.
I would watch out for Tech this year. They have their usual Big 12 opponents but if you totally go on a home-road look at their schedule, they really only have 2 rough games on the road (Nebraska and UT). They have us and OU at home late in the season. It could be an interesting game with us if our secondary doesn't step up to the plate this season and because they were right with OU, exept for all the INTs, last year. I will be in Lubbock either way this November wearing my 12th Man colors. I would like to see A&M finally win in Lubbock since I have started going up to Lubbock in 1996.

I'm screwd the day I get graded for grammar. I have the worst spelling and grammar ever. And I even had a minor in English.
It would be cool for Tech to actually have a freshman QB. That is almost scary.

if baylor or ok st. deserve a thread under rivals so does tech....besides, the fact that you even bothered to post that proves something to me, so thanks for clearing that up.

yeah i heard about chris todd but i am so tired of musical quarterbacks.....graham is a good runner huh? man that would be interesting to see considering that cumbie diving forward loses 10 yards.
and for the rest of you who are coming you better let me know when u get here!

You guys don't have huge keg parties in the middle of a field anymore? Everytime I went to Lubbock that what was going on. Like 20 kegs in a circle and hundreds of people with no cops ever.
That **** was cool.

yeah...lol well thats what SAE chili cookoff is. theres a state park east of lubbock wit a natural spring that has made a small canyon and they have the cookoff there. they have to rent the park or whatever so all that is required is rent a cops.

I Love to go Jazz to eat and drink during the Live music. I have gone to the original O Bar on 34th many times and love it. It kind of reminds me of a small Chicken. I should have my RV there some this fall. It is the one with the wheel cover saying House Divided. Stop by if you see us there. I am sure I will have a Crown in hand for you. :)

I think you are right about Kalf Fry during the UT weekend. It was going last year when Tech got smoothered by the UT running game. It wasn't a pretty sight to watch.
