At least that's the conclusion in Washington Monthly's latest version of its annual college rankings. Rankings are based on social mobility, research and service.
As part of its ranking, the magazine computes how well universities and colleges act as "an engine of social mobility" by subtracting the number of graduates from the number of predicted graduates (based on SAT scores and Pell Grant percentages).
