Man I hope this happens. Memo to Barry...noone is going to give a damn if you aren't there. You are not bigger than the game of baseball. Cooperstown can do whatever the hell it wants to with that baseball and any other POS that is associated with you.
NEW YORK -- Barry Bonds (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=3918) would boycott Cooperstown if the Hall of Fame displays his record-breaking home run ball with an asterisk.
That includes skipping his potential induction ceremony.
"I won't go. I won't be part of it," Bonds said in an interview with MSNBC that aired Thursday night. "You can call me, but I won't be there."

I think this makes their decision (about the asterisk) a little easier...

Isn't the owner of the ball only giving it to them if they agree to put an asterick on it? I have a feeling that Cooperstown will cave and not do it.

I wish barry would move to a foreign country and live out the rest of his days. I am really tired of hearing about this jerk.

If he's not there, I couldn't give 2 ****es. He's an arrogant a-hole.

Yeah, I really don't care about bonds boycott of the hall. Just because he didn't "knowingly" use steroids doesn't have any thing to do with the FACTS as to his use of steroids. If I accidently hit a pedestrian while driving drunk and didn't KNOW it, am I not guilty of something?

They don't have his whole quote on here, and I'm a Giants fan, so maybe I'm biased, but he's got some good points.
He said, "Baseball doesn't have asterisks. To display the ball with the asterisk is for baseball to willingly rewrite and make this part of history." If I'm baseball, there's no reason to keep and display the ball... (especially if it's tarnished or defaced with a branding). Just have Barry give his bat or something like that from that day....
He does have a point. They don't have asterisks in the record books. They would have to make a special exception for him.

What does it mean for him to boycott the HOF? Who cares, the HOF only helps him and he doesn't help the HOF. I would love for him not to make it.

It would be great if he would give his bat or something, BUT he has kept EVERYTHING that would mean anything to his records. HE has said he is keeping it all so he can make sure he is set for life financially.
Putting the Astrik on the baseball ISN'T rewriting history it is AKNOWLEDGING IT.

Bonds may not have the choice of participating. I don't think the HOF will look kindly on a felon when induction time comes around.

Bonds should never have been anyones hero, at least not since arriving in SF. Being someone from the area growing up listening to that blowhard I should know. Since he arrived in SF he has seemed to become more and more combative with everybody, almost as though he has a huge case of 'roid rage, wonder where that came from.

I thought OJ's quote was pretty good after being indicted for a second time. It was something to the effect of "I completely trust in the jury system."
I bet you do OJ.
