Anyone ever listen to Sammy and Bob in Austin in the mornings? Sammy got fired this week for calling a caller an a$$hole on the radio. Good riddance to him anyway. He was a grumpy old man that talked to much crap and always bashed the Aggies. His firing was set in motion earlier this year when he called Barack Obama a "clean darky." They were just looking for a reason to get rid of him.

Is Imus really the best radio personality they could find. Just amazing how these people continue to get there jobs back. It is like there is no one else out there that is capable of doing exactly what they did. I understand it is about money and ratings. And that negative press is still press. Just find it ridiculous.

Why in hell did that comment not do it? I guess the owners of the station had some sympathy with the statement.

Darky is OK and Donkey is not.:undecided:

So, you don't like Imus. Because the comment he made was CLEARLY a joke. He insulted people on the radio, if everyone should be fired for that we wouldn't have any late night talk shows or anything else.

He had some kind of explanation that somehow got him off the hook. I don't really know what his excuse was b/c I don't listen to him.

So, was it an insult or a joke? To me there is a big difference.

Whether it was insulting or not is soley up to the target of the remark to decide. Quite frankly a lot of JOKES ARE INSULTING. Take a look at the late night talk shows and tell me one that does not insult people at least once each night.

Bottom line is I don't like the guy and won't listen to his JOKES.
